City University of Seattle?

I am currently enrolled at UMUC working towards a BA in communications. I really enjoy the classes I am taking, however the upper level COMM courses do not have much to do with my career. I work in television broadcasting and would prefer a program with more emphasis on mass media. Otherwise I worry I will get bored and not finish.

I was searching online for other online schools with communications programs and City University of Seattle seems to have a lot more classes that fit into my interests.

I just can't find much information out there about the school. One of those online ranking sites gave it a much higher rating than UMUC, but I am not sure if I can trust those sites.

I think the only thing that makes me nervous about it is that the classes are 10 weeks long instead of 16 like what I am doing now.

And since I work full time, how many classes at a time should I be able to handle? I am taking two right now at UMUC and think it is perfect, but it isn't as accelerated as City U is.

So if anyone here has information or comments on the school I would love to hear it.

Thank you! I am so glad I found this site.

    Is this enough information? www.cityu.edu/sas/bs_communications.htm

It does take some getting used to, but I had to adjust to the quarter system when I was studying for my two MBA degrees at City University after having done my BA in History and Political Science at Western State College of Colorado on the semester system.

Usually, one who works full-time would take one or two classes at a time. I would recommend trying one class your first quarter before attempting two classes at a time.

The only thing with that page is that it's the main program page and not online. I couldn't find any information as to whether or not all those classes are available online. I will speak to an adviser today.

I appreciate the info you have given me. If I start in January I would definitely take one course to test it out. I have a trip planned in February and another in April so probably both quarters I would take one so that I don't fall behind. And then see what I could handle from there.

Here is the link for online programs: www.cityu.edu/about/flexstudy/online.htm Note that the BS Communications is 2nd from the bottom under "Division of Arts & Sciences."

Or you could just start at the main page www.cityu.edu and navigate your way to online programs and/or BS Communications.
