Chinese companies buying US colleges https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2018-03-20/cash-strapped-u-s-colleges-become-targets-for-chinese-companies
This caught my eye: "Beijing Kaiwen Education Technology Co. agreed in February to pay $40 million for Westminster Choir College... The announcement came just weeks after the government-controlled Chinese company changed its name from Jiangsu Zhongtai Bridge Steel Structure Co."

12 or 13 years ago, I made a tongue-in-cheek speech at the DEAC national conference on the theme that the Chinese government had just bought the University of Montana, and the ramifications thereof. Tongue is now out of cheek.
The deal is done https://www.nytimes.com/2018/06/21/nyregion/westminster-choir-college-rider-sale.html?rref=collection%2Fsectioncollection%2Feducation&action=click&contentCollection=education®ion=stream&module=stream_unit&version=latest&contentPlacement=4&pgtype=sectionfront
That college that was going to be sold to China . . . sorry, no sale. https://www.insidehighered.com/news/2019/07/02/westminster-choir-college-sale-scrapped-rider-university-returns-campus
It seems to be a good deal for the United States to make some bogus kinds of stuff and sell to China. It helps to bring down the national debt. Just sell all the school to Chinese investors, then revoke accreditations. Sell them all the real estates, then bring back McCarthyism to seize their assets and kick them out of the US.
