    Hi All,
I just realized yesterday that APU/AMU (which is Regionally Accredited) will accept up to 15 graduate hours from a Nationally Accredited university.

Im interested in their MA in History or Humanities but would like to push the costs down by transferring in some much less costly courses from Nationally Accredited universities.

Can anyone offer suggestions of very low-cost NA grad schools?

    any suggestions are much appreciated!!

I like this idea and thought about it during the big marketing push from Andrew Jackson Univ. last year. Bear in mind to make sure the credits will transfer directly to courses in the degree path at the RA school. That was my problem. Could not get a clear answer on almost all of the classes and they were fairly generic business courses. APU has a search feature regarding the transfers and most came up as "not yet reviewed" which means they may or may not have accepted them for direct transfer for that course. I didn't want to committ the time and money without a clear answer.

I'd still say AJU and Aspen are good choices, just wish I could get a clear answer from the RA school.

First of all, you're not going to find many nationally accredited schools with graduate degrees in history. Second of all, you're not going to find nationally accredited schools much cheaper than AMU.

    Pinching Pennies...

    APU is $300/grad credit.

for Cheap History Courses i have seen these courses at:

WNMU, at $127/ Grad Credit (I would look at any 3 Hist courses from their MAIS program)
Lousiana Tech University, at $137 / Grad credit (I would take the Historiography and Historical Research & Writing classes, both of which are core at APU)

This would give me the max of 15 hours to transfer into APU...

these alone would shave $2,350 off the total degree costs at APU. Stuill i was hoping to go even lower...

Both of these are Regionally Accreditted, but i was hoping there would be an even cheaper Nationall ACcredited school offering courses in Hist or Humanities.

Those prices are ridiculously low already.

Even if a school isn't regionally accredited, it still has overhead. Those prices are probably about as low as you are going to get.

Your five master's degrees aren't enough??

I agree with the posters above, you won't find credits cheaper than the cheapest RA schools such as the ones already listed. The DETC schools I checked just now were all at least $275/credit.

I agree, its just that ive always ignored NA schools and looked only at RA. with this option from APU I was hoping there were even cheaper options out there.
