I want to enter an on-campus MBA. I would like to finish the prerequisite for the MBA online. the prerequisite courses for most MBA programs are: accounting, statistics, management, economics, finance, and marketing. I looked at several programs listed below. I would like to know what you think of those programs, and if you know of another program, I would love to know about. My evaluation criteria: 1. Cheap, around 1K per course. 2. AACSB-accredited (not required) 3. 8-weeks, or 10 week based. 4. Strong online learning environment (lecture CD/DVD, interaction with teacher). I am not interested in do it all your self, self-study stuff. I want to interact with my teachers and fellow students. I looked at those programs Mississippi State University: Price: 473 per credit hour AACSB-accredited: yes 8-weeks: no, Semester-based Learning environment : no idea Courses: Survey of Accounting Statistical Analysis for Business Decisions Survey of Management Survey of Economics Survey of Finance Survey of Marketing my note: good, but above 1K. Courses: GRBA 810 - Contemporary Managerial Accounting GRBA 811 - Managerial Finance GRBA 812 - Managerial Economics GRBA 813 - Managerial Marketing GRBA 814 - Organization Behavior GRBA 815 - Operations and Information Systems Strategy my note: requires admission to the MBA program Jacksonville State University Price : 225 per credit hour AACSB-accredited : yes 8-weeks : no, Semester-based learning environment : no idea Courses: MGT 504 Business Organization and Administration (3) BA 500 Statistics and Quantitative Methods (3) ACC 200 Principles of Financial Accounting (3) EC 222 Principles of Macroeconomics (3) FIN 301 Business Finance (3) FIN 292 Legal and Social Environment (3) CBA 390 Operations and Technology Management (3) MKT 301 Principles of Marketing (3) my note: courses are at the undergraduate level. They may not meet the prerequisite requirement for many MBA Any recommendation, addition, idea, and/or advice?
I'd go with Jacksonville because of price. I don't see a difference if you're only using these as pre-reqs. You might also want to look at Fort Hays. Pug
Cameron University offers prerequiste MBA courses they are around 288 per semester credit hour: http://www.cameron.edu/online/graduate/mba_degree_prog.html http://www.cameron.edu/online/graduate The school is not AACSB accredited they are ACBSP and courses are 8 weeks. I am a bit biased because I have attended there and will receive my MS from there in May.
