    Hi there,
So the semester ended Friday 18 Dec 05 therefore grades were due to the school. I was finishing up an INC, in November and I finally see my grade for the course. Well, I end up getting a D however, the instructor didn't grade all my assignments. I turned in my research paper, week 4 assignment, week 9 assignments and extra credit. The instructor graded everything but my week 4 and 9 assignments and if she would have graded them I would end with a C. Now, that grades are turned in...I don't know what to do! BTW, she is a hard and strict instructor.
Has anybody dealt with this before???

    Thanks,
    Tiff

It appears that you need to set up an appointment to speak with your instructor to discuss the points you made above re: ungraded assignments and to understand the basis for your final grade. There is absolutely no reason why ANY student should be apprehensive re: meeting with their course instructor to discuss issues that are relevant to themselves no matter how "hard" or "strict" the instructor appears. YOU are paying for the course and contributing to the instructor's salary and are entitled to a polite and collaborative discussion. So let us know what she has to say.

Where the assignments turned in on time? If so, then you have a good case for an appeal. If you submitted them after the due date and you did not make arrangements with her for late submission, then I am afraid you have no case.

Great advice from both Simon and Susanna. If the initial meeting isn't resolved to your satisfaction, and (as Susanna pointed out the assignments were turned in on time, then be prepared to appeal/elevate the issue. Everybody works for somebody.

The wheels in academia tend to turn slowly, so be patient, but stay persistent. Best of luck.

Well its a DL course so I had to email her. That's one thing I hate about DL courses. The assignments: week 4 I did get permission for late submission due to Hurricane Katrina....I just happen to be visting my family and the hurricane hit, so I turned that in as apart of my INC also. Week 9 was when I submitted the form for an INC, I couldn't complete none of the work that week along with my research paper. Not to mention, I turned in all my assignments a month ago and she graded it yesterday.
