NCATE-accredited programs are known for their high standards and rigor, which is why graduates of these programs are highly regarded by many school districts, licensing authorities, and teaching professionals.

We are honored to receive this recognition. NCATE-accredited programs are recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation for the preparation of P-12 teachers and other professional school personnel.

Each program in Capella’s Professional Education Unit (PEU), a collaboration of 14 offerings that prepare individuals to serve in a variety of roles within the P–12 education environment, has earned this accreditation. As part of the accreditation process, these programs underwent rigorous external review. The accreditation affirms that these programs meet standards set by the teaching profession at large and appropriately prepare students for the role they play in students’ lives.
