It is always suspicious when a new poster bumps up an old 3+ year old thread to claim legitimacy without offering supporting information.

Sure - some smart people just do not fit into college systems - but later in life try to add to their credentials by buying fake degrees. I have hired engineers and technicians without a degree providing they can do the job. My last company required 4 years related experience if in lieu of a degree (verifiable on Monster.com

Funny site. Thanks! The reasons people list for earning their degrees are hilarious.

Maybe the reason "Dr." Johnson could not get a loan from his or her bank has more to do with lack of judgement.

I liked the ones where the guy didn't have to wait in line at the airport because of his degree! I also enjoyed the one where the fellow bought the 5-day degree while his Dad was on his death-bed so that he could impress his father before he died.

I'm with you. These people list the most ridiculous reasons for getting a degree.

You mean impressing one's father is no reason to get a doctorate?

I doubt any dad will be impress by a piece of paper that anyone can print out of their laser jet :)

  8. Dang! You mean I've gone to all this work and expense getting RA degrees when all I really needed was a good printer and some gold foil? :) I love how that site has a pretty young lady telling you all about how legitimate and accredited their degree is...it's almost like a beer commercial! "PhD Light: less filling, same great taste!"

    instant degrees

For those of us who have gone to college and then to grad school and then taken and passed the bar, what is "instant degrees"

The fact that the person you hired was competent doesn't mean that their "degree" was real. Surely you understand the difference.

Combine this with your apparent inability to understand the concept of "instant degrees" and you've now successfully managed to create some doubt about your own intelligence.

Ian is right. Whenever a newbie appears and in their first post they resurrect an ancient thread in order to defend a mill then you've just got to know that they're shilling for a mill. Because of this, I'm locking this thread. No more free ads for this junk.
