BSBA and MBA from same school?

    Hello,

I'm in work on finishing my BSBA at Touro University International (thanks to the recommendations of this group) and have been researching what school I'm going to get my MBA at. Is it undesirable to have a BSBA and MBA from the same school (TUI in this case)?

So far I really like the format for the TUI classes as it allows me a lot of flexibility to work around my job. Are there any negatives if I decide to stay with TUI for my MBA?

I see most people have each degree from a different school. Is this by design or just "the way it works out"?

    Thanks for any insight,

I think it's generally better to get undergrad and grad degrees from different universities. This gives you exposure to differences in approach and outlook. And as such I think it gives a better impression to would-be employers, etc. Also, I have become a little suspicious of the so-called "co-term" programs, such as that offered by Stanford where the kids can graduate with both a Bachelor's and Master's at same time.

On the other hand, there are cetainly many other more important considerations. IMHO, you should pick the best school that you can manage -- in terms of finances, time, etc. (I am NOT one of those who believe that any RA school is OK.)

I think it only makes a difference if you're going for a teaching job, and even then I don't think it would hurt if all your degrees were from Harvard or another top-tier school.
