NBC executives have decided to suspend Brian Williams for 6 months without pay. Lester Holt will be the substitute anchor.

I honestly feel that he should be fired and that his career should come to an end. He lied to so many viewers and pretended to be something he's not. He's a disgrace to not only news, but also to veterans who have given their lives in sacrifice. He will get no pay during his suspension.

Hopefully viewers will be able to find another anchor who will gain their trust and respect. Brian Williams deserves no opportunity and has lost all credibility.

I agree. It's time for Brian Williams to "decide to spend more time with his family" and for the show to be renamed to NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt.

Oh, please. If this is what gets you worked up, then I'm not even going to bother trying to explain what a big deal this isn't.

Well it is a big deal. We need to have journalists who have credibility and trustworthiness. It is a big deal. If you don't feel it's a big deal you don't have much respect for the men and women who sacrifice their lives for our country.

We need to have news people who put integrity in everything that they do. It most certainly is a big deal for someone to claim that they were in an airplane when it was shot and in fact it was completely false. If you don't call that a big deal you certainly are missing the big picture.

What? You mean a TV journalist lied/greatly exaggerated a story? I'm so shocked!

Is this the story about the guy who saw bullet ridden helicopters floating past his hotel room?

So because it happens often enough to warrant cynicism, that means it's okay?

Whether he losses his job or not (let's face it, he has more money than God and after a year he'd get a different job) I think that the sad thing about the whole mess is this: From all the lies that have been told about this war (WMDs, it's not about the oil, etc.) the only person to suffer any consequences from a lie is Brian Williams. That's just sad.
