Now has locations in Istanbul, Cyprus and Rio; however, the office is on Milk Street in Boston. Perhaps they want some warm locations?

Nothing named "Boston Business Institute of Technology" is accredited by any agency approved by the US Department of Education (USDE) and/or its Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)... that's for sure.

Its web site developer has obviosly not read any industry articles which would have told him that most of the world's web site visitors are still using slow dial-up and, therefore, those who over-rely on multi-media web sites -- especially FLASH -- are just shooting themselves in the foot. Just as I've never met a restaurant that's worth having to wait much more than five minutes for a table, I've never met a web site worth waiting several minutes for the site to "load."

Finally, just looking at it, overall, I don't see why we should even consider it "unaccredited, but possibly legit." It smells like a mill to me, and I don't see any reason why we should think of it otherwise.

    Do you, Denver?

I have mixed thoughts on most start-up schools Gregg. I would like to believe that all of them have the best intentions – but we all know that is not true. My test for new schools is “do they meet an unsatisfied demand”, if they do not I begin to question their motives. There are just too many legitimate and quasi-legitimate schools in the marketplace and I have to question the motives of another school that wants to duplicate existing programs.

As far as this school, having lived through two Boston winters while I was in graduate school, and knowing how many schools are already in Boston, I do not know why anyone would want to start another one there. As far as this schools legitimacy, the school advertised for faculty in the Chronicle of Higher Education back in July. I don’t know if ads in the Chronicle have any more legitimacy than adds in the back of the Economist – so I really cannot use this as a guideline.

In other news, some members have emailed me to see if I was dead or not. I am very much alive, evacuated New Orleans 12 hours before Katrina struck, took some damage to my house, lost my office and my business and am now communicating from web cafes due to losing my Internet connections (the three story wall of my office departed the building and took by DSL with it; and a tree terminated my home connection along with part of my roof, fence and backyard shed). Contrary to what you may have seen in the national media, people still do live here in New Orleans and we are starting the long process of rebuilding.

    Welcome back from the storm.

I'd prefer to side with you in thinking that most schools should be given a chance if they are meeting some un-met demand.
