I was reading my son's blog (call me nosy - I have a net nanny on the computer he uses) - he uses the term F.I.S.H. Lot of his friends use the same term. Besides the obvious, is there some meaning to this?

ok - duhhh - what does that mean? My son thinks I am computer dumb. Why do all kids think that? When I was his age, I was building computers and programming, but using some silly AIM. --

If I am so computer dumb, then how can I trace his every move? (without him knowing). I guess parents are not so dumb after all.

How was your Christmas? Get everything you want?

I assume it means exactly what it says. But with different kids and their cliques it could mean most anything. As for tracking, I have my router logging sites, etc... in addition to monitoring. It's not my kids I don't trust but the damn predators on the net.

As for Christmas, the Packer's lost (still have a soft spot for them). The kids made a haul and most everyone is at least breathing. For me, I got a really cool knife that has a built in whistle and led flashlight in the handle. I'm fond of tools of all kinds but still marvel at knives and bicycles, one because it changed the world and the other because we have yet to beat the simple efficiency of the bicycle. As someone like yourself who deals with electronics (mostly infrastructure, RF) I really like the simplicity of hand tools and often wonder how we moved so far away from the honest toil of manual labor. (then I remember; paycheck.)

    How about you?

Do you know for sure whether your son checks out degreeinfo?

My son didn't even know I was in school for my MBA. He didn't know my sister used to be married (duhh - not the same last name as me - I guess that would be a clue). Kids are clueless today - and in Fremont, they are not very street smart. He wouldn't go to degreeinfo - even if I told him to.

Humm - got nota from the wife. All I wanted was a BMW 323Ci convertible or a Tom Tom GPS. She said both were too expensive. I however, bought her an iPOD 60GB Video Ipod (ain't cheap) - and one of those silly Ron Popeil ovens (stupidest device I have ever seen - a big toaster oven - so what - she wanted one for some reason).

My daughter gave me some jelly beans and my son gave me a gift he won at my wifes families party (a L&O game - talk about a fast re-gift).

I am not into Christmas. We used to have big family parties over at my dad's house on the Napa river - usually on his boat. But since he died 10 years ago now, it just hasn't been the same. Oh well - I did buy myself an MBA ring which came in on the 23rd. I was a little disappointed because the diamonds are a little on the small end and I goofed on the size (should have ordered a size 10 -- but got the 9.5 -- now I have to send it back).

I am also joining a gym tomorrow. After 2 years of graduate school -- I am a fat little toad!

Forget It Stuff Happens, is one. Or you could substitute the F of your choice.

I cannot wait to hear the explanation of this one.
