    From the article:

"In 1995 and 1996, then-Chief James Parks and his associate, Marshall Thompson, the founder of soul R&B group the Chi-Lites, took bribes of $1,000 to $2,500 from people who wanted to carry a gun and a badge."

I used to listen to the Chi-Lites back in the 70s and 80s ... liked them, as I did many of the popular R&B groups. It looks like Marshall Thompson has, hopefully, learned his lesson. He's back with the Chi-Lites, where he's been since 1959.

I find the Chi-Lites much more interesting than Ellis, this alleged fake cop, convicted arsonist and known former mill-meister. That's not entirely an unique combination, by the way. I remember at least one other jerk who combined police-posing and accreditation-milling. No arson, as far as I know, but what a bully! "Extremely self-aggrandizing, self-centered, narcissistic, controlling, manipulative and lacking in empathy" could cover both of them - and many others faking their way in various professions. Bah!

Let's have a bit of sunshine here. Note on the Chi-Lites: "The group was inducted into the Rhythm and Blues Foundation in 2000 and (Eugene) Record appeared with the group on stage to perform and accept the award. The group was inducted into the Vocal Group Hall of Fame in 2005, and were honored with an induction into the R&B Music Hall of Fame on August 17, 2013 at the Waetejen Auditorium in Cleveland."
