I am considering the following schools for an online MBA. Although the last two in the list may seem to be a better option since I am from MI, I am considering other schools very seriously in case I relocate in the future. Based on the various rankings and postings, the 5 schools in the most preferred order currently...

    1. IU - Kelley
    2. UF - Hough
    3. ASU - Carey
    4. UM - Dearborn
    5. WSU

Kellogg, UM-Ann Arbor and MSU are not options because of their high costs. Same for Penn State and Fox. I am however tempted to add Thunderbird to this list, but its 68K price tag is very dissuading.

In the list above, the rankings for Kelley, Hough and Carey are very inconsistent across the various program rankings and I am having a difficult time deciding. My experience with IU and UF staff has been extremely pleasant but I dont want to use that as an indicator for the program itself. Kelley is more consistently ranked higher than the rest for all their programs, but UF-Hough is ranked #1 for their online MBA. ASU's rankings are way down in some, but seems to get good reviews from past students. Dearborn is here for the UM brand name and I haven't heard a lot of bad things about Dearborn.

I would like to request thoughts from forum members and what might be the best program to shoot for from the above 5 schools?

Being in Florida, I pick UF. The interaction I had with the staff was outstanding. With all things being equal, I would recommend to go to the porgram closest to your home.

Rather than rankings, I would use support more as an indicator of which school to choose. Rankings come and go depending on which magazine you read, or how much a school can massage their numbers. Once you choose a program however, it's harder to start over with another one if you decide you don't like it.

UF does have great support, and also a fantastic career resource service. I would go with them. Of course, I'm a bit biased.
