  2. A very open-ended question...my general recommendations:

    1) At a minimum get the "CLEP Official Study Guide" published by College Board (the CLEP test creators), as it has the exam breakdowns and sample exams for all CLEPs.

    2) If you are taking the General exams (any or all of them) buy "Cracking the CLEP" published by Princeton Review.

    3) If you are taking subjects that are covered by the COMEX books (www.comexsystems.com) I highly recommend them...they can be purchased via Amazon.com.

    4) If you have trouble with Accounting, Economics or other subjects covered by the Standard Deviants tapes (www.standarddeviants.com) I recommend these as well, but you have to be the kind of person that can learn concepts from video. Buy these on eBay - I picked up several for a few dollars each.

    5) Buy recommended texts from half.com, not new.

    6) Sign up for Instantcert.com - they have a 30-day guarantee and I found them helpful for approximately half the CLEP and DANTES tests I took (especially History or other rote-memorization topics).

    7) Search this site for the exam(s) you are looking for. My site (see link below) also has some tips posted.

    Cheers,

  3. Tip 8: Look on eBay for guides sold by Xenia34 (you need to search by user name). Ignore those that are over $6 as they have the "pass or your money back" guarantee - it's the same material whether you pay $6 or $32. I used the Humanities guide and found it of some value, but didn't buy any other ones.
