best cheap Masters in International Relations or similar such as international NGO ? This is for my nephew who lives in DC so state schools that offer in-state for distance learners would be good.

    TIA

OK. I think that International Relations is one of the Masters offered at Harvard Extension

Well-known and cheap don't often come together, especially with international relations degrees. I'll see if I can find my old list because I researched hundreds of similar programs before settling for a cheap, podunk state university.

Try Norwich University (Vermont) don't know if they are cheap but the degree is respected and 95% online, just need to show for a week at the end usually.

They're not cheap but highly reputable - Norwich has been around since 1819. (Disclosure - I earned my own M.A. at what was then Vermont College of Norwich U.)

Another one that comes to mind is one of the earliest DL programs in international relations - the program has been around for well over 30 years: Salve Regina University in (I think) Rhode Island.

Normally I agree that those who object to foreign degree programs for Americans because of bias have a fair point. But in the specific case of someone based in D.C. who's interested in international relations, the MA in Global Diplomacy from the University of London may work well, and its total cost at today's exchange rate is just $15,570.

The MS in International Relations at Troy University comes to mind.
