A little about me, I'm a Public Library Director in the greater Dallas/Ft. Worth area. I have a MLS from North Texas. I'm interested in improving my job opportunities and thinking that an MPA would look good for gov't work and basically give more options.

I'm really close to choosing a Masters of Public Administration program to apply to. It's either going to be the online program from Arkansas State or the new University of Missouri online MPA. As I see it there are pro's and con's for each, but neither is a bad choice for my situation.

Arkansas State is very affordable, around $800 a class. It's Naspaa accredited. The classes all have POSC prefix which could be helpful for adjuncting. However, Arkansas State does not have big name recognition.

Missouri is still affordable at $1000 or so a class. It's Naspaa accredited. It has name value. Classes have a PA prefix if I recall (not sure).

Do any of you out there have experience with either school? Words of wisdom?

I don't have any experiences with either; however, I would recommend Missouri over Arkansas State. Why don't you go for Ph.D in Library Science/ Information Science with University of North Texas? The program can be done in hybrid, and in-state tuition.
