As many of you already know, Apollos is not RA. However, if that doesn't matter, they now offer their DBA with two new specializations: artificial intelligence and information technology. The programs cost under 19k. Just a heads up for any ENEB Master's holders or holders of other Master propio degrees that are certified by accredited Universities: they do accept certified propios for entry into their Doctoral programs.
Wait, what?! That's awesome, I wonder which other DEAC accredited or NA accredited schools will take these propios degrees and accept them in their Doctoral programs. Was there anything else needed besides an academic evaluation from the NACES or similar organization?
When I asked, they told me the foreign credential evaluation wasn't needed. They self-evaluate and already deemed the ENEB degrees to be acceptable.
That's great! I'll check out their site for more info. Man, @TeacherBelgium should investigate this option instead of his current PhD from PCIE. Even though it may be more expensive, I think the extra cost for a more accredited and recognized CHEA/USDOE degree would be worth it compared to PCIE. Oh wells, that's what I think anyways, the ROI/Value would be better.
He's in Europe, so I would go with neither. Some Bulgarian and Bosnian schools we discussed here may be better bet. At least they're accredited.
That's great.... I had been thinking about Apollos University and made an inquiry to them a couple of years ago. Every since ENEB has been established, I often wondered could one of their degrees be used as entrance to the DBA or satisfy bridge coursework. Good to know it does. Doing an ENEB degree would be cheaper than taking their prerequisite courses for those who don't have a MBA as their business survey and statistics courses don't count towards the requirements.
Similarly, in the doctoral programs in Leadership at the University of the Cumberlands if one has credit beyond a Master's degree (whether a second Master's, a previous attempt at doctoral work, or just "loose credits") then one can transfer in up to 18 credits as one's specialization, Since specializations include business, it would be interesting to know whether evaluated credit from an ENEB program would check that particular box.
I wonder how you can do a "Doctor of Business Administration" in AI. Those are 2 separate fields. I guess this is like doing an AI-lite degree. Almost like its main selling point is the addition of AI in the degree name. Looking at the course list, this program looks less rigorous than the Georgia Tech OMSCS or OMSA masters programs. I wonder if someone wants to teach analytics as an adjunct, which option (georgia tech masters in analytics or apollos DBA in AI) will help most to get you the job?
I would probably do both, personally, if that was the path that I wanted to take. Some schools might put more weight on the Doctorate, no matter what kind, while others might put more weight on an RA-accredited Master's degree.
A DBA in Business Analytics would definitely make more sense. I'm trying to think of situations where you would apply AI (as opposed to machine learning) in the business environment. You could write a thesis/dissertation on the application of self-driving cars or stock robots or something, maybe?
