Thanks for the heads up on them. They seem VERY professional. The faculty is top notch and they are about 1 hour drive from me.

Do you have any experience with them yourself?

I graduated with the DBA from the Orange County campus in 2003. I currently teach in an MBA program for the Department of Defense. But I still stay involved with Argosy, both the OC and the San Francisco campuses. My wife is pursuing the DBA in accounting from the OC campus.

What did you like the most about Argosy?

The doctorate program fit my schedule perfectly. I was working full time, but the courses were held on the week-ends (friday nights, saturdays, and sundays). Argosy even held week-long courses throughout the year. The professors were excellent, very encouraging, and great mentors. They encouraged us to publish our research papers. The students were all serious business professionals or business college instructors. A great mix.

What did you dislike the most?

    The name "Argosy".

What was the quality of the courses?

The courses were excellent! Very challenging, and we were allowed the flexibility to incorporate our own professional experience and interests into our research papers. We were also encouraged to use our research paper assignmemnts as a way to start our literature reviews for our dissertation.

Did you takle any online or most on campus courses?

Most of my courses were on campus, but I did take a couple of them on-line. The on-line courses were good, but I did enjoy the in residence courses a lot more.

Were you well prepared for what you do now?

Definitely. The business research training and the writing of research papers makes my current job (teaching, researching, and publishing) a lot easier now.

After much research, it appears that the Atlanta campus of Argosy is accredited by APA but not CACREP.

    Argosy APA

    TED,

Thanks so much for all your help. You really have been a great source of information for me on several posts now. I can not tell you how much I apprecite this. You have saved me a TON of time. Thanks

I guess- as well - that the APA DOES approve Matsters degree programs. This was in question at the beginning of this post. Thst is awesome because I am close enough to go. And it is a clinical degree. After searching their texbooks they use for class, I really am impressed with the science aspect of their training. The faculty is astounding as well. Several of their Ph.D./ Psy.D. 's have done clinicals at Emory - a very well regarded hospital with an awesome Psychiatry department.

Are there any other MA APA approved Psych degrees? DL or otherwise?

    Argosy APA

    Ummm.......

Ted - I think I misunderstood you. I thought YOU were saying Argosy had APA approval for the Masters program (MA Clinical Psych). I knew they had APA approval for the Psy.D. Program.

    My mistake.

Argosy should get an award for having the LEAST amount of information posssible on a web site. I downloaded the catalog and still did not get everything I needed to know about the Atlanta campus. I e-mailed them with specific questions.

    Thanks for all the help.
