Are you getting a substantial discount?

No, but I teach full-time at APUS and get free tuition there. If/when they ever get a PhD program(s), I have heard the waiver will apply.

Your signature line says that you're an adjunct at:

    1. Franklin University
    2. Benedictine University
    3. APU/AMU
    4. UOP
    5. Western Washington University

Is that your sole source of income or do you have other jobs as well?

I cant actually list the names of the places where I am an adjunct and where I just landed a director position (privacy restrictions), but here are the various discounts that are offered at the institutions where I adjunct and work full time:

    1. Free degree of my choice, not including doctorates. Books not included. (Have to remain employed at least 18 months after you finish the program or you have to repay the entire cost of the degree)

    2. For each class I teach, I earn 1 free class I can take. This covers the tuition of the course, books and other fees are not included. Includes doctorate programs. (You have up to 1 year to use each free class you earn, after this they expire).

    3. Half priced tuition, includes books, since this particular institution uses ebooks in all its courses. Includes doctorate programs. (Only applies up to 2 courses per term, so if you are going full time you foot the rest of the bill.)

    4. Free degree of my choice, undergraduate level only. Books not included. (You have to remain employed 1 year after you finish the program or you have to repay the entire cost of the degree)

I also want to point out that two places where I used to adjunct, just recently stopped their tuition free program for adjuncts and full time faculty members. One said they stopped it because it was too expensive, the other said that they stopped their program because it was not helping to retain faculty as they thought it would.

I have regular, full-time employment in the public safety sector.

I should add that I should be starting full-time with APUS in Jan. and realigning my work load at a few of the other schools on my list. I only teach a couple of classes a year for a few of my schools as well.

How can you work full-time at APUS while concurrently working full-time as a public safety officer -- while also working as a part-time adjunct elsewhere? How is that possible?

Time management. It also helps that I work a 24 hour on/48 hour off schedule on my fire department. PM sent.
