    Hello!

I'm just finishing up an MA in education and am casting about for the next step. My area of research is distance education and constructivist learning environments.

I have a (somewhat) technical background, have taught online courses, and have completed the CSU Hayward online teaching and learning cert as well.

Has anyone had any personal experience with online (or short residency) Education PhD/EdD programs that have a distance education emphasis or option that I might look into?

    Thanx in advance!:D

Now if Rich Douglas was still posting then I'd say this question might get the answer it deserves. As it is, you might need to go to the alt.education.distance newsgroup on usenet or maybe the distancelearning page on about.com and ask for him directly.
    Tempting though, isn't it Rich?
    ;)

    FYI:
    Rich Douglas
B.A. (Sociology), The University of the State of New York
B.S. (Business), The University of the State of New York
    M.B.A. (Business), National University
Ph.D. (Nontraditional Higher Education), Union Institute and University

His doctorate (2003) is same as you are talking about.

If you haven't researched it out by now, look for:

    Capella U (PhD)
    Touro U International (PhD)
    Nova Southeastern U (Ed D)
    Walden U (PhD)
    Argosy U (PhD I think)
    U of Phoenix (Ed D)

All have programs that focus a bit on nontraditional e-learning. If you search this message group you'll find a ton of opinions/info on each. Dr. Douglas's PhD was via the Union Institute, where you design your own major. The others are more externally stuctured.

... just in case you didnn't already know...
