This is a program that provides BS degree holders from ANY field a professional CS program @$271 per credit hr. Offered by the University of West Georgia, the only catch is that you have to be ready to "program." Yes, its is a no-nonsense software programming computer science degree. Check it out here: UWG Online | Master of Science with a Major in Applied Computer Science

Correction: The program is MS in Applied Computer Science, not MS in Computer Science (if that makes a difference).

Nice find! I think it's a good thing -- I suspect it means that rather than focusing on theory, when you graduate you'll actually have programming skills that employers will pay you to use on their behalf.

Thanks for sharing. I’ll be done with my undergrad degree in December and plan on working on some IT and internet marketing coursework in the spring. This program looks solid and the price is great. It is definitely worth considering.

Very nice. I added this to my bookmarks.
It looks like there are a lot of low cost masters degrees in the South and especially in Georgia.

How could you miss this one? 271/credit for Doctorate

    Doctorate in School Improvement
    20 months | Credit Hours: 60 | Tuition: $271 (per credit hr, in-state or out-of-state)

This program is a cohort model that only admits students in the summer semester. This program is designed to take three years to complete. Degree completion is possible in as little as 3 years. Degrees are conferred in May. Coursework is available 100% online; required orientation must be done on campus.

Accreditation: Program accreditation: UWG is accredited by SACS and NCATE.
University of West Georgia is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)

Our program requires very few visits to our Carrollton, GA campus. In fact, students are only required to come to campus twice during the program: (1) for an intensive 2-1/2 day Orientation during the first summer, and (2) for an intensive Dissertation Prep Seminar during the second summer

Yep, it's such a steal; its cheaper than your Aspen EdD). I posted the EdD info here, but I doubt many are aware of this new very affordable EdD program. I wonder what Randell will do when he sees it. By the way, with this type of tuition, and increased program availability by state schools like this, online-only for-profits better get ready for real rough times.

I will look at it, wish anyone luck that enters it, wish these options were available 7 years ago when I started, look at my wife and realize how time spent with her is more important then even considering something like this...that is what I will do. :smokin:

Competition will be good for the student-customers, that is for sure!

That EdD sounds like a great deal and the cohort 12 is made up of almost all women so I bet they have some affirmative action going on for us guys :)
