A statement on online course content and accessibility | Berkeley News

Long story short, the DoJ is coming down on Cal for not ensuring that all of their free, online course content is ADA compliant. I understand the importance of content being accessible to all students and would hope that institutions are being mindful of the different needs of students, but I fear that harsh reproaches for these kinds of situations could make these universities more reluctant to offer the free, wonderful content that has been growing in popularity over the last few years. I would hope that there be some leeway given for Cal to implement accessible content for existing coursework.
