Assessment of student learning? Isn't that exactly what teachers and professors have been doing all along? Think about it! When a student turns in a piece of homework, writes a book report or book review or term paper or group project or makes an in-class presentation or takes a quiz or a test or writes a thesis or a dissertation or a series of comprehensive examinations and when the teacher or professor assigns a grade thereto, has not assessment of student learning occurred? Only an ignorant conservative would think otherwise! DUH!
