Education is a huge sacrifice - many on this board understand your feelings, including myself. You must stay positive though, as you have come so far.

So, have you done as I recommended?

    Cheers,

    George

Thanks for the concern George. Much appreciated once again. The wind has blown the bamboo to bend, and I have bent, but I believe that bamboo will stand firm and experience the wind, rain and sun, and still be bamboo.

Mmm, that's deep - I think I need some mind-altering drugs to work that one out.

So, I ask again, did you (or are you) going to do what I recommended?

    Cheers.

    George

Thanks again for the concern George. Really appreciate it. I will take time to think over what is my next course of action. Logical, progressive rather than rash. You know my American pastor once said to me let providence decide. I can only believe and pray.

    Salami,

I don't really understand what is stopping you contacting the university directly. You are complaining about a string of problems which are valid and should be addressed, yet you will not even contact the university directly and seek assistance? I have provided you with all the contacts and necessary sites to make your grievance heard.

The more I read into your case, the more I am thinking you are here just to yank our chains and waste bandwidth. Do you want help or not? I have told you what the correct grievance procedure is - why will you not follow it?

    Cheers,

    George

George I am sure Salami has communicated to all parties concerned, you may need to go on a course on anger management. Respect Salami's wishes to have time to think it over.

So, peng88 chimes in with his/her first ever post on the board and gives me advice. Yeah. Gotta love the anonymous posters.

    Help over.

    Cheers,

    George

(...who is working on his PhD full time, has precious little time, and out of the goodness of his heart is trying to help out a 'supposed' hard done by overseas student. Remind me to refrain from this type of behaviour in the future)

Salami, George has given you some good advice; it is in your interests to pursue your matter with the university. From my experience, they are very reasonable, understanding and helpful people.

Obviously you have been stuffed around by the local agent. However, it may be that you have also overlooked some administrative matters yourself.

Best to approach the university direct if you want to claw back the money you have spent and hopefully get back on track for your DBA.

    Salami,

Don't give up, if I were you, I would take the first plane to Australia and talk to everybody that you need to talk to. You need to speak up and document all your problems. I think that CSU would do something about if talking to the right person and not just over the email, make the appointments and just go over there raise all your concerns.

The worst thing you can do at this moment is to feel sorry about yourself and give up, you have worked hard for that money and that DBA so stand up and go at get it.

Salami, save your money and just email!

I have had email correspondence with a couple of the names mentioned on this thread in the Business department of CSU when contemplating graduate studies in this area, and I found them most helpful.

Like George and others say, I am sure that if the right people heard your story, they would take remedial action.

You can communicate well (as one would expect from a DBA candidate in an Australian university!) so 'just do it'!
