I've just registered for the HUX summer trimester at CSUDH and was feeling a little bit lonely (first class using distance learning method, you know how it is). Anyway, I went down to campus yesterday and met all the staff in HUX office. What a great bunch of folk!! They were really friendly and helpful. Especially Nicole, who helped navigate me through the hurdles of being accepted into the program with a late application (quick admit). I also met Ms. Zetelli, who was in the middle of her lunch and was kind enough to drop everything to have a chat...I was a student of hers about three or four years ago and she remembered my name. Wow!. Thanks to THead and all the other HUXERS for posting reviews and messages on this board. I found all of the messages very useful and will continue to refer to it throughout my course of study. I expect that this message board may help us all feel less isolated. I'm also hoping we will be able to share ideas and experiences to help us succeed in the Program. Congratulations to those who are finished and welcome to those, like myself, who are new....Let's go for it together!!!

  2. Way to go, Kenny. . .

HUX is a blast. I was in your position exactly one year ago and have found the courses quite illuminating. Best of luck to you.

That feeling of wanting to connect with other DL'ers was what motivated me to start posting at AED when I was a new HUX student several years ago.

There weren't many HUX students posting at that time, but there were lots of people from other distance education programs. Their problems and frustrations were all pretty similar. That wider exposure got me interested in broader issues in distance education. So you may find that this group is a valuable education in itself.

I'm really happy to see that HUX has a whole group here now. I remain very pleased with CSUDH and HUX and feel that it met my personal needs admirably.

So congratulations, Jimmy. If you want to start some HUX-specific threads now and then, I'll contribute what little I know.
