Astoundingly great idea! Why can't I find a similar program in Blues? Oh, wait, they say this man has a grad degree in Blues. http://www.metrowestdailynews.com/article/20140822/entertainment/140828370 Sure he has a grad degree, but it's an MBA! His "blues degree" is earned by playing experience. Oh well, maybe that's as it should be, then.

"Yeah i'm a road scholar how i love to hear the wheels whine
Rolling down that old highway..." Steve Levicoff? No - Lee Roy Parnell again. :)

He got the blues from paying off his MBA student loans?;)

Those two are great blues environments, Kizmet. The Chicago History Museum article talks about Ray Flerlage and his wonderful pictures. All my books on blues are peppered with his photos. Some I've had for over 50 years. Nice to know a little more about Ray - and know he's still with us at 87. And Bob Koester, who owned and ran Delmark Records for many years. I met Bob many years ago, around 1964-5 and thought he was a great guy. He was road-managing the "rediscovered" Sleepy John Estes at the time and they had a gig or two in my home town - Sleepy John, Hammie Nixon (harmonica) and Yank Rachell on mandolin. I was seriously into blues harmonica then - and the group did a workshop in Toronto at the Folklore Centre. I got to meet Bob again, and got to learn a little from Hammie about his own personal style.

If you want to hear how they sounded, check out YouTube.

As for Berklee - OML, that school can do no wrong! I've had some excellent Berklee freebies from Youtube. Some day, I'm gonna send Berklee all my money, pick up my guitar, shut myself in forever and learn... They'll call me Lightnin' Johann, the Blues Hermit!
