Just recevied the results from US on: -Statistics -MIS -Organizational Behavior an A on each. Don't ask me how...I wasn't too sure about the first 2. This is a major boost to my lately falling confidence! If I can get over that Statistics, I can get over any other, now I KNOW!
I used: Statistics: Statistics for the Utterly Confused + some older math books to brush up further on probability Organizational Behavior: Book of the same name by "Stephen P. Robbins" Fifth Edition (bought it many years ago) MIS: Assorted resources and personal experience. No specific Book. I found the Statistics exam VERY LONG even if it consisted of only around 97 questions and as you know there's no time limit for Dantes. There was for me though because I had an appointment with a flight schedule so had to hurry through the last few questions, after 2.5 hours on it. Normally I could have spent well into 3 hours doing it.
No chance at all! Prepared mind it is. Perhaps you didn't learn the material to expert level, but you learned the material well enough to earn a score that was at the very least least above the 85th percentile of those who passed the course through a traditional course in a regional accredited school (by virtue of earning an "A", although, but it could be higher depending on your exact score). Congratulations. Tony
Congratulations!!! Another 3 tests to your credit bucket. Where did you end up taking the tests? At the moment, I'm finished with taking tests at Webster in Geneva. Now it's online/distance learning courses for all my IT requirements... hopefully I won't need anymore GEd credits. Good luck!! Brandon
Thanks all for encouragement. BN, I sent you a private message, didn't you get it? Since London will not be testing anymore till September after May, I might have to consider going to Geneva...I did contact Geneva already some time ago so got the cost details etc. I'd still have to investigate a convenient accomodation etc. I believe Geneva offers testing every month, even in summer? If I go I'd test out for everything I have left to get my Associates + a couple of Clep GEneral Exams to start build up for Bachelor's degree. Except the English and Information Literacy requirement which I'll probably do with Lousiana State University. can one move around/get by well in Geneva using just English?
I spent a week in Geneva and English is fine but not with Taxi Drivers or McDonalds. Who can I contact there regarding doing some CLEPS in the summer, how many can i do in one sitting. Regarding DANTES, a lot of military bases near to where I am offer Dantes, can members of the public do such exams in these bases, how do I go about checkin g these out. Well done WillMAkeIt on the Stats, I did a course in STATS (transferred in now) a few years ago and I knwo its not easy.
Graph Hey Unixman! Your degree progress graph keeps going up!! Right on! Good for you! Take care, Abner
Thanks, I sent you a PM with details about testing in Geneva. I might be going end of June for 2-3 Cleps there. Usually they have one Saturday a month for testing, and can do 4-5 maximum per day. Yes, I feel such a relief to have gotten over the Statistics hurdle. I remember someone I know telling me that the only reason they didn't do Psychology when they were doing their Bachelors was because they just couldn't take the subject Statistics which was compulsory then for PSY. So basically they changed their career direction just becuase of that one subject. That's when I really got scared but at the same time told myself that I had to accept the challenge, that if I could get over that one then anything is possible... Of course now Calculus would be my next challenge up the ladder, but I don't think I'll tackle that one just yet, nor do I need to the way I'm going.
Geneva is one of the most international cities in Europe. It will not be a problem to get around with English. I replied to your PM. Brandon
