In late November the Apollo CI pages had previously listed its "accreditation" as coming from "the National Board of Education, Inc." It looks like all mention of NBOE has been removed from the Apollo CI pages.

    Novermber, 2003 FAQ
    Is ACI accredited?
Yes. ACI is fully accredited and formally recognized by the National Board of Education, Inc.

    December 21 FAQ (http://www.apolloci.com/faq.htm)
    Is ACI accredited?
Yes. ACI is fully accredited and formally recognized as A Division of James Monroe University

The James Monroe URL is http://www.jmuniversity.ac. That domain has IP address 216.171.217.191 while the Apollo CI domain has IP address 216.171.216.164.

There are some other James Monroe domains kicking around, to amusing consequence. This one: http://www.jamesmonroeu.org/ displays a page for Robertstown University! Now how'd that happen, I wonder?

The JMU site which DOES show things relating to James Monroe U has its "courses" link pointing at "Internet Education Systems" with url http://www.iedusys.com/. IES lists its mail address as

    Internet Education Systems
    P.O. Box 248
    Kamiah, Idaho 83536

Kamiah is also the home to Breyer State University, though BSU is to be found in PO Box 1144.

IES is also the place you are sent if you click on the "Courses" or "Catalog" links in the Saint Regis University page http://saintregis.edu.lr/degree_programs.htm.

JMU, SRU, BSU, they all seem to have some semblance to each other. Maybe one big happy family:D

Not to be confused with the Mary Washington College James Monroe Center for Graduate and Professional Studies.

Breyer State also drops NBOE reference.

I wonder if the proponents of the National Board of Education are in the process of letting it quietly disappear, taking its reported desire to sell accreditations for $50,000 with it?

Breyer State University seems to have dropped references to NBOE.

    ==== OLD ====

From http://www.osac.state.or.us/oda/oregon_north_dakota/breyerstate/regis.htm one finds "Breyer State University is pleased to announce its affiliation with Saint Regis University, which is accredited by the National Board of Education, Inc."

Also, from http://www.osac.state.or.us/oda/oregon_north_dakota/breyerstate/regis-faq.htm one finds "You will graduate from Breyer State University. Also, you will receive a degree and transcripts from our affiliated University. This provides you with the added benefit of National Board of Education, Inc. accreditation of your degree."

    ==== NEW ====

In the current Breyer State site at http://www.breyerstate.com/regis.htm one finds instead "Breyer State University is pleased to announce its affiliation with Saint Regis University. St. Regis University is fully recognized by the Commissioner on Higher Education of the Republic of Liberia. As such, our graduates enjoy the many benefits of this accreditation."

Also, in the page http://www.breyerstate.com/regis-faq.htm is to be found "You will graduate from Breyer State University. Also, you may choose the option to receive a degree and transcripts from our affiliated University. This provides you with the added benefit of approval of the affiliate degree by the Commissioner on Higher Education of the Republic of Liberia."

This seems to have happened with the American Coastline University site too: the accreditation page at http://www.amercoastuniv.edu/accredit.htm no longer includes NBOE. The history of ACU's accreditation page is this:

    1. 6/2002 only IUFS was listed as an accreditor.
    2. 10/9/2002 IUFS, NBOE, EQAC, AGC-USA were listed.
    3. 4/1/2003: IUFS, NBOE, EQAC, AGC-USA, MMC were listed.
    4. now: IUFS, EQAC, AGC-USA, MMC, Christhomas Consortium are listed. (The entry page to the site still makes mention of NBOE: perhaps this is an oversight.)

    Curious.

I agree. I think St. Regis itself is now fatally wounded. There is so much negative information available on the web about St. Regis that the value of a St. Regis degree (even to the unethical) is now less than zero. Perhaps they should let St. Regis quietly disappear and emphasize one of the others?

    Saint Regis dumps NBOE?

Here are more examples of the National Board of Education fading from view.

    The International University:

Old (google cache) page www.internationaluniversity.edu/why.htm says
The current page www.internationaluniversity.edu/why.htm omits this entirely.

    Saint Regis University:

Old SRU faculty page (I'm pretty sure it's a 10/22/03 version of saintregis.edu.lr/faculty.htm) describes Richard Novak this way:
    The 11/11/03 version said this:

NBOE does appear on the various versions of the Ministry of Education certifications shown on the sites. It is curious that they are not identical, given that they were signed on the same day and purport to demonstrate the same certification: compare http://www.saintregis.ac/images/Liberia%20Ed%20Minister%20Cert3.gif and http://saintregis.edu.lr/images/certificatesm.jpg)

Perhaps the signatures, which are identical, are done with rubber stamps. Compare enlarged images of the signatures in the attached jpeg.

    Said benefits to include:

    1. St. Regis secret decoder ring

    2. Instruction to the SRU secret handshake

    3. A cup of coffee at any Starbucks in South America

Ah yes, a scam is a scam is a scam.

James Monroe University's Website http://www.jmuniversity.ac has the headline:
At http://www.collegehints.com/boards/showthread.php?t=353 , Rich Douglas writes:
The book is The Ultimate Online Degree Guide by Justyn K. Sapphire.
    http://www.ultimatedegreeguide.com
Google has never heard of the author.

Mark: "The book is The Ultimate Online Degree Guide by Justyn K. Sapphire.
Google has never heard of the author."

Holy mackerel, Andy, everybody knows that Sapphire is Kingfish's wife.

And here's the one-line summary of Episode 43 of Amos 'n Andy, entitled "Birthday Card":

Sapphire gives the Kingfish the third degree and wants to know why he received a birthday card signed Sweetheart.

"The third degree." That presumably would be the doctorate.

They haven't corrected the stutter yet.

http://www.robertstownuniversity.ac/ offers the same book free when you apply. So either we now know two of the "TOP TEN FAVORITE PICKS!", or Robertstown is promoting itself by offering free copies of a book that doesn't recommend it.

Now James Monroe lists some faculty...

    ...here.

Professor Dr. Daichi Tottori; Higher Education Consulting and Management, Multinational Law, Accounting and Taxation
    PhD, Saint Regis
MBA, Americana University (now defunct "Official Branch of St. Regis University")

    Professor Dr. Najib Fatayerji
    DBA, Saint Regis

    Professor Jacqueline Culver
    BBA, Saint Regis

Professor Dr. David John Morton; Business Administration, Senior Advisor, Career Advisor and Student Mentor
Prof at both JMU and Robertstown.
    PhD, Saint Regis.

Professor Dr. Jay Strike Carlin; Psychology, Divinity, Business Administration
    multiple California Coast degrees

    Professor Lourinda R. Givens
    working on Capella PhD

..and that's all they show on their roster.

I couldn't find any links to the faculty page on the JMU site. Perhaps they are ashamed of showing them to the outside world?

In spite of this, "JMU is listed in the Top Ten Picks in the Ultimate Degree Guide" they tell us.

    Yo G,

Perhaps you can apply (that is if they will have you) to teach a course in Advanced Avian Studies.

no can do- Breyer State's got it covered.

    Hi Bozzy,

I don't think they'll let me. In fact, I don't think they let their faculty treach their courses either. The JMU link to courses takes you to the Kamiah, Idaho based Internet Education Systems site. The domain registration for IES specifies (as administrative contact)

    Kolenich, Rosemary
    [email protected]
    Internet Education Systems
    PO Box 1144
    Kamiah, ID 83536
    208-935-0233.

(Note that this is the also the address on the Breyer State application.)

So I think they have their courses covered.

The same seems to be true for Saint Regis, though SRU also appears to accept course material in exchange for the award of a PhD to the author of the material. Maybe I should contact SRU instead. Would you be willing to write a letter of recommendation?
