    Hi everybody!

I'm writing to all of you who can help me! I need some directions to find out hat I have to do in order to equivalate my economics diploma. I'm from Romania and I understand that I have to take some exams for my diploma to be recognized in the UK.

I know that for medicine is the PLAB test. But what about economics? Where can I find more information related to this? i couldn't find anything on the web. Can anybody give me an URL or something? I could really use one :)

you can find a lot of info for equivalency to US education from this board. I guess there are a few members from UK here whom can answer your question.

BTW, Do you plan to use the diploma in UK or US ?

IN that case, you need to get the equivalency of your diploma certified by NARIC. http://www.naric.org.uk/

For a US equivalency, World Education Services provides an online Grade Conversion Guide http://www.wes.org/gradeconversionguide which will give you an idea of what your Romanian grades are worth in US terms. Then I guess you could translate the US equivalency to a UK equivalency using the same guide.

If you need an equivalency for education or work purposes then, as suggested above, you need to consult the UK NARIC who, for a fee, will provide you with a British equivalency that will be recognized by employers or admissions offices.

    UK and US Equivalence

The U.S. Department of Education and the National Science Foundation have created a detailed public document to compare degrees and qualifications from other countries.

Please view the following webpage for details:

I saw those documents too. Never could understand them though. for example according to this how would one figure out the equivalency of a UK Honours Bachelor degree in Computer to US (if that is the purpose of these documents) ? If someone has any info on how to interpret these, let me know.

    Hi,

If you are planning to use your existing diploma for entry into a course at a UK educational institution (eg. for a higher degree) you will probably find that the institution concerned will be able to help you .

    Regards,

    MAPPING THE WORLD OF EDUCATION

    ETECH,

It is very easy to figure out. The documents have a detailed description of what each "code level" represents in the front of the report.

For example, a level code of 60 represents a standard Bachelor of Arts or Science.

Level 61 represents a Honors Bachelors of Science or Arts.

If you look at one country's "level code" and it matches another countries "level code" then they are equivalent.

This is my interpretation, use it on your own accord. Consult an education specialist for direction.

uk.naric.org evaluates foreign credentials. the following diplomas normally get credit points from 120p (undergrad level) onwards, like
    Diploma de Absolvire
    Diploma de Licenta
    Diploma de Inginer.

    cheers
