As friedrich suggested USQ may be a good choice for you. They have exam centers in India. MS program fee is about USD8,000.

My alma mater, Illinois Institute of Technology, offers programs in Bangalore, and a few other locations in India. A MS in Computer Science with specialization in Software Engineering is offered.

    IIT Online

Click on the "International Programs in India" link.

Good question. I don't know. I poked around the IIT website a bit, but all I found was what I already knew: It costs $628/credit hour for students in the USA, and most courses are 3 semester hours. I think this would be quite expensive for India, and I would not be surprised if the costs were less for students in India.
Perhaps someone in India could contact one of these folks to find out:

PTU website is gone. UGC might have busted this fake university.

    http://www.ptuonline.com/accreditation.htm

Punjab Technical University has been established by an act of the State Legislature to promote Technical, Management & professional education at the degree level & above.

Under Section 3 of the University Act, the Punjab Technical University is authorised to Institute and confer Degrees, Diplomas, Certificates & academic distinction. The nomenclature of all the courses is as per the University Grants Commission (UGC) norms mentioned in Section 22 of UGC Act. The university is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities. Thus the degrees and diplomas given by the Punjab Technical University stand recognized by other University on a reciprrocal basic. All colleges/institutes affiliated to Punjab Technical University offering professional Post Graduate Degrees have the approval of AICTE., New Delhi.

Give a call to the university/UGC/AICTE and check it out if you still have doubts.

For some time the PTU web site has stated:
    • Admission CLOSED
    • Due to unavoidable circumstances, the exams have been postponed. Please visit website regularly for latest updates.
    Anybody know why?
