I noticed that you omitted the second part of that question.

    "Who invaded who?"

This was in response to the fanaticism of people who could not handle crticism of their own nation.

These were a sampling of the comments directed toward Irat and myself earlier in this thread.

"If you hate the U.S. so much, I would be most pleased to buy you a one-way, first-class, airline ticket to the third-world destination of your choice."

"I'll chip in with you." In response to the the last quote.

"I get so tired of people demonizing their own country."

"Wherever you are stay there. We have enough american bashers in our own country. Just think of this though before you continue on with your dislike of our country. If another mad man rises up Hitler, Sadam, Osama, etc. and goes after your great country who will you most likely call? When your country gets some great plague, epidemic, or has a disaster then who will you start yelling for? When your economy goes to crap who usually bails you out? Just something for you to think about."

"I am sure Bush is the leader of the great Satan nation of America, and Sadam is a martyr, am I right?

Tell us how you really feel about our country."

After all of these comments I made the comment that you quoted.

"If he's a Brit out of short pants, with a bit of education, he's probably so far left, he'd make Lenin blush."

I do not appreciate such an implication. Communism was a murderous system that caused the brutal deaths of millions.

I would have nothing to do with such tyranny.

I based it on these comments.

"Let me guess...you are French aren't you?"

"Yes Frenchie...oops I mean Frankie you are definetly a conservative"

You guys "gave it back" before I said anything that could be construed as "mocking" or "insulting."

As you can see my "mockery" was in response to those who could not handle their nation being criticised.

Maybe we all (myself included) need to learn to tolerate each others views. This board is loaded with the scholarly, academically gifted and outright educated. We should be able to better then this.

Welcome to my ignore list Mr. Janko. I noticed your biography says that you are a "country preacher?" You really are a great example of the love of Jesus my friend.

I choose liberated instead of invaded. Liberated from an evil dictator who slaughtered his own people, and stuck his middle finger up to the world. Is this the guy that you are taking up for. Again, what would you have done? If the allied forces had not moved in after Kuwait then Saudi Arabia would have been next on Iraq's list. At the time Iraq had the 4th largest military in the world. If we did not do something now then we would have had to a few years from now IMO.

You are quoting more than one person, so obviously you just don't like any of us who disagree with you. BTW, I stand by my statements and if you have such dislike of our country then either go somewhere else, or stay out of it.

Again, not my comment. You are lumping several people into one post.

I noticed that YOU left out, "Let me guess you are Republican aren't you. That is when I responded, "Let me guess you are French aren't? Just to return the volley"

You suggest that America is the terrorist party, and that Arabs have a justified reason to hate the US. You make these statements and Frenchie bothered you. It must have hit pretty close to the mark to have stirred you up this much. Again, if you want to debate an issue that is fine, but if you are just going to slam the US then expect some who are proud of our country to stand up to you.

I am afraid that many Iraqis would disagree with that.

    Iraqis denounce American occupation

    http://www.cbc.ca/stories/2003/04/18/iraq_bgddprtst030418

BAGHDAD - Tens of thousands of people hit the streets of Baghdad on Friday to protest against what they regard as a U.S.-led foreign occupation.

    Shiites Denounce Occupation

    By Anthony Shadid
    Washington Post Foreign Service

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/ac2/wp-dyn/A12772-2003May19?language=printer

BAGHDAD, May 19 -- Thousands of Shiite Muslims marched peacefully through Baghdad today in the largest protest so far against the six-week-old U.S. occupation of Iraq, calling on the United States to surrender power to an elected government and denouncing the exiles and ethnic organizations that U.S. officials have courted to help form a temporary administration.

    HOW SADDAM HAPPENED

By Christopher Dickey and Evan Thomas

America helped make a monster. What to do with him—and what happens after he’s gone—has haunted us for a quarter century

    No, I asked a question.

They do not have the right to commit acts of murder and terrorism...nobody has that right.

I do believe that the Arab world has reason to be disgruntled. However, using violence to deal with it is not morally or ethically right.

At least it was not as bad as this...

    Six enemies of freedom

    http://washingtontimes.com/commentary/20031016-073451-5199r.htm

Martin L. Gross, syndicated columnist, is the author of a dozen books on politics and government, including three New York Times best sellers.

France is a special case, a particularly near-psychotic enemy, which not only has shown ingratitude but has developed a fervent anti-Americanism based upon its failure as a world influence. Once the center of culture and intellect, France now is in the position of the Arab world of the 13th century, when their arrogance and anti-Christianity set the stage for the fall of the Muslim empire that had conquered half the civilized world. The same is now true of France, whose contributions to the world — intellectually, culturally, and scientifically — have virtually ceased, while America's continue to grow each year. Their envy will be their downfall. In fact, a recent book by a Frenchman, "La France Qui Tombe," or "France Which is Falling," has become a best-seller in that frightened, paralyzed nation.

    Frankie:

Have you ever posted an article that was not out of date?

Both of the protest articles are over 7 months old. There is no doubt that some do not want the US there, but there is also no doubt that many do. I am not here to justify anything, but I keep asking what the heck would you, and your country do? Do you think nothing should have been done about Sadam? That is exactly how Bin Laden got so powerful before 9/11. Many governments including the US knew how bad he was, and what kind of intentions he had, but nobody did anything and you see what happened. Same thing with Hitler, a lot of people knew how bad he was, but did not do anything until it was too late.

I agree with you on Korea. This guy is as bad if not worse, but again what do you do? Do you continue to give him aide and hope he will be a good boy?

Either throw out some solutions, or lay off the criticisms of the ones who are trying something. Nobody has ever accomplished anything by criticism. Who else is willing to make a decision, and go with it? The plan may not be perfect, but it beats standing around. Nothing would have changed at all had this action not been taken. 10 years from now the UN would have been complaining about Sadam kicking out inspectors, and violating sanctions. By then they would have written about 30 more sanctions against Sadam, and he would have been in violation of 48 sanctions.
