USNews' best grad schools 2004 comes up with the following AACSB schools that come in at under $20,000 tuition and have an online MBA (based on last year's tuition fees).

    Auburn University--Main Campus
    Fairfield University (Dolan)
    Mississippi State University
    Ohio University
    Portland State University
    Tennessee Technological University
    University of Massachusetts--Amherst (Isenberg)
    University of Texas--Arlington
    University of Texas--El Paso
    Western Carolina University

Mind you, a quick check of the Ohio University pages suggests that USNews has some duff information.

Less than 15K and AACSB accredited? That's a relatively short list. The ones I know in addition to the ones you mentioned include:

Marist College - as long as you don't need prereqs
    Georgia State - webmba
    Morehead State Univ
    U of Texas

in the UK- there is also Henley but they may be around 17k US

Lots of prereqs, though. Could push the cost up.

    Currently only a candidate.
Nearer to $22,000 at the current exchange rate (although an absolute bargain when compared to the fees for the full time or modular MBAs).

The University of Colorado-Colorado Springs has a program just outside your price range, at $16.3k if I'm figuring right. I got my MBA there in the residence program, and it's pretty good. But if you're strict about your price range, then I guess it's out.

We may need to make some distinctions here. I don't know what CSUDH is but SUNYIT is not, strictly speaking or perhaps in any speech, an MBA. Hybrid business master's degrees are many and varied and likely not AASCB.

Angela brings up the matter of prerequisite or foundation courses at Marist and Georgia State. Are those prereqs a downside or an upside of those programs? Seems to me that those prereq courses can be taken as less expensive undergraduate courses. Marist calls them "foundation" courses above which must be taken but thirty credits of graduate courses for the MBA.

Can those foundation courses be taken as undergrad sans an undergrad business degree?

CSUDH is California State University - Dominquez Hills and may actually be his best bet under the constraints given.

Umm, I think you're mistaken. SUNY IT is definitely a traditional MBA program and is also an AACSB candidate

For more info about SUNY IT's MBA program look here

For AACSB info about SUNY look here

Sometimes it is better to get a non-AACSB MBA from your nearest local college than an AACSB MBA online from a school the local job recruiter has never heard of, especially if you believe you'll be staying in town for a few more years.

The Web MBA here in Georgia is through five universities in the state: Kennesaw State University, State University of West Georgia, Valdosta State University, Georgia Southern University and Georgia College. Georgia State is not in this consortium and does not offer an online MBA program. The price is very low, but unless you already have a business degree then there are a ton of prerequisite business courses to take before you can enroll. However, I recently spoke with a professor in this program who told me they are planning to offer a single course for non-business degree holders. You may want to inquire about that if you do not have a business degree. All of the schools are AACSB accredited and well regarded here. The website for the Web MBA is http://www.usg.edu/student/webmba/

I am enrolled in the UMass program and the costs are going to be closer to $25,000 for the program.

Another inexpensive option here in Georgia for an online MBA is Brenau University. It is RA and many local professionals attend their evening courses. They have a campus (office building) in the Atlanta area, and their main campus is a women's college in Gainesville, GA. I considered this program, but wanted an AACSB program. Their website is http://online.brenau.edu/online_programs.htm

Best of luck in your search!

Thanks for your replies. I visited all the school's web sites and found CSUDH to be more suitable for my needs (they are AACSB candidate). I talked to cathie at CSU and was very interested in giving me all the info. But i need to take some pre-reqs. Tuition is $300/cr.

Is there anybody on this forum having experience with CSUDH?. I would appreciate their inputs.

    Thanks.

    Suncoast:

Did you enroll in the CSUDH MBA program? I've been doing some research recently and developed some of the same criteria. I'm looking into CSUDH, SUNY-IT, Univ. Nebraska-Lincoln, & Bellevue.

your thoughts or experiences would be appreciated!

    Kristie:
I'm considering (strongly) the iMBA program at Tulsa, and I'm wondering if you have any input. My search convinced me that the best bang for the buck was Tulsa, but I'm approaching it cautiously.

Actually, my first choice was an overseas program, but my employer won't pay for an overseas degree.

    Email me if you like.

    Thanks

I have been trying all day to post, and been getting errors - here goes (again!!)

Since I have posted this via PM to many people, I thought I would here, so searches would come up with this. It is truncated, due to word limits on PM's.
    ______

Overall an OK program. I was in the second class, so things are changing - no visits on campus now.

The program began at with one dean, who was GREAT, and a great assistant. The new dean leaves something to be desired.

Each class is VERY different. Most have at least 2 professor's, and mostly 3. It is a hard transition.

A great portion of the classes are weighted HUGE on the final - very difficult. The last Professor in strat. mgmt - most of us had A's, then everybody got F's on the last assignment. I escalted to the Dean, and he again was not much help. The assistant was great though he was unable to do anything about it.

We did have one professor get sick and we didn't get feedback (at all) for almost the entire semester. The school knows it happens now, so I hope it won't happen in the future. It was very frustrating.

There are a couple of great classes - a business plan presented to a bunch of financial bankers (though with no on campus, they may have eliminated that). The portfolio portion of the financial class is great, though only 1/3 of the class.

The library services are great, the billing department is a joke - every semester something wrong. The assistant is trying to change those things though.

This program does not have a thesis, and if you want to go into Doctorate study it makes it difficult through the application process. It is private, so be aware of that.

They publish information on their students, without their knowledge or consent. I wouldn't have minded, if I was asked, but they do "bios" on some. Be aware, what they know is sometimes published (city, personal info, etc).

Overall, a bit of a roller coaster ride. The last semester left a bad taste in my mouth, but I think that is the direction things are going, unfortunately. There are a couple of Professor's who are very much against DL who are teaching. I know they dropped one from the program, but the other I think is still in there.

Anyway, I hope it helps. I did have some bad and some good experiences, so take it for what it is worth. If I were to do it over again, I would not do it again, but it is not a bad overall program. Check out Drexel or Florida State too - in the MBA, there are many to choose from these days.
    ____

Also realize that it truly does not matter where you are - since it is purely DL now (no required visits).

If you have any specific questions on the comments above, feely free to ask.

(I did post this on the "MBA Program? AACSB" thread, in case you think you have seen this someplace before. :p
