    Hi,

Has anyone taken any Undergrad (or Graduate?) Computing/Information Systems or Business degree program(s) at Athabasca University ? How was your learning experience ? Would you recommend the University ? were you able to get admission in Master's program based on this degree in US/Canada ?

    Thanks.

Other people will have to answer your questions; but I would urge anyone thinking of transferring credit from elsewhere to Athabasca to read my thread Athabasca U. transfers fewest credits.

I would still like others to share their experience on Athabasca degree programs (and the University) and further admission in Masters program in North America. Specially those who started fresh with AU in their programs or had minimum credits to transfer.

Coming back to the transfer issue as pointed out by Mark. What happens if you have a degree from UK University which has a totally different credit scheme (10 or 20 credits/course or something like that) ?

    Hi,
I've taken 6 courses from Athabasca (18 credit hours), the most recent was "COMP 390 Computer Graphics". It was an excellent course, I learned a lot about C++, OpenGL. I feel that it was comparable to what I was doing at my home university. The lessons were well laid out, the textbook was good, and they assigned specific practice problems. The graphics course had a firm grounding in 'algorithms' for computer graphics, not just fancy code or calling OpenGL functions without truly understanding what they do. I love Athabasca university and would highly recommend it. Start with one course, order it, if you don't like it, send it back and you're only out $75 for admin fees.

    Hope this helps,

    Ramona

I agree that the quality and content of AU courses is quite good but I wanted to know if someone has actually graduated from any of their program and have been admitted to Masters program or not. I want to know the utility of AU degree in terms of further admission and employment.

I guess only people have taken courses from them and no one actually graduated from AU program ?
