Pardon my typo let me refrase:

Hey, Is Nova Southeastern also included in this?

SACS has accredited Nova for over 30 years and SACS is one of the toughest (most conservative) accrediting agencies. I doubt Nova would ever be affiliated with a group such as this.

I think we have a situation where this group is dropping as many names as they can and making as many “play on words” as they can to make them look credible. This is not only going to get them into trouble at some point but if a professor is shamelessly using a school he teaches at to promote something that is not in the best interest of that school, he may not be working there much longer. Not trying to stir anything up, that is just my opinion.

Look at your options...there are plenty!!

I don't know what the deal with NCU is, but obviously if they are partnering with questionable institutions, I would only suggest you look at other options. It's your time and money, and you owe it to yourself to consider ALL your options.

IUFS has already changed the text of this once! Google's cache of http://www.iufs.edu says:

"IUFS signed agreement with Universites [sic] International Inc. (UI), USA to offer NCU Northcentral University degrees for local and foreign students in Russia. Now our students have chance to earn their practicals/probations in US firms in Europe, USA or Russia. (Pic. President of UI - Prof. Mike R. Black with Rector IUFS - Prof. Shanti P. Jayasdekara)"

    http://www.iufs.edu itself now says:

"IUFS signed agreement with Northcentral University (NCU) to offer Northcentral University degrees for local and foreign students in Russia. Now our students have chance to earn their practicals/probations in US firms in Europe, USA or Russia. (Pic. Dean of the NCU - Prof. Mike R. Black with Rector IUFS - Prof. Shanti P. Jayasdekara)"

Again, it sounds like IUFS is misrepresenting this whole thing. In the end I bet NCU signed an agreement with Universities Intl. to promote their programs. Then UI agreed to pay IUFS for hits on NCU link. Definately a mess, but unless I am wrong NCU will clean it up quick. I see no long term damage.

Given that everything on English version of their website is either a lie or semi-truth, I don't think that NCU connection is true either. It doesn't mentioned in Russian section btw.

    P. S. I love the way they present their "government approvals" to the audience that can't read them anyway... like their "Ministry of Education" license that really comes from St. Petersbourgh Registration Chamber...

What about these jokers with multiple degrees from multiple unknown sources, many of whom have an association with degree mills.

    http://www.stateduma.ru/

Is this a state organization or something imaginary.

Is aed's Moshe/degreeinfo's student_for_life working on a commission or really that out of touch with reality?

Real Duma's (lower chamber of RF parliament) website (in Russian):
    http://www.duma.gov.ru/
I saw no link to this alleged "state Duma Committee on Foreign Relations".

But I liked this phrase: "International Academy of Information, Communication, Control in Engineering, Nature & Society (ICCIA) awards international accredited Academician of the Russian Academy of Science honours and membership of the Academy". How can any organisation other than the Presidium of RAS grant RAS membership? Who do they want to fool? And what's "international accredited" RAS honors?

Message Fron The President of NCU

Northcentral University continually explores ways to bring quality online
American education to people around the world. We examine countless
colleges and universities who would like to affiliate to find only those
that meet our standards. It appears that IUFS "jumped the gun" and
improperly reported an affiliation that does not exist.

Northcentral University has no partnership or any other agreement with the
International University of Fundamental Studies. Northcentral University
never had a partnership or articulation of any kind with IUFS or with any of
their associated schools, nor do we intend to have one with them or with any
of their affiliates. Northcentral University will not accept graduates,
courses or credits from these institutions since they are not accredited by
an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.
Northcentral University has requested that they immediately remove all
mention of Northcentral University from their web sites and from any
    literature they may have.

If you have any knowledge of any other institution or entities claiming
articulation or affiliation with Northcentral University, that is not listed
under "Partnership" on our web page, please notify me directly so we can
    take corrective action.

We are very diligent about protecting our reputation and good name,
maintainig the quality of our programs and degrees, and protecting the
interests of our graduates and learners. Thank you for advising us of this
matter. We appreciate your diligence in helping us protect the fine
reputation that everyone at Northcentral University has worked so hard to
    achieve.

When I first read the thead, I (and probably a dozen more) emailed NCU and informed them of the IUFS website and this thread.

Thank you for clearing up any doubts.

    Thanks Dr. Donald Hecht.

Please take a look at the below scam too.

    http://universitiesunited.com/united/p1.html

    http://universitiesunited.com/united/

A very special partnership exists between UU and Northcentral University [shown, above and below], of Prescott, Arizona. There, Professors Huang and Black hold administrative positions related to NCU's projected, rapid expansion into China, and elsewhere.

The accreditation of universities is organized very differently in America than in other countries. Federal licenses and state licenses to do business are NOT accreditations. They are only licenses to do business. Presenting state licenses or U.S. government licenses indicate the non-accredited status of the presenting educational institution. The ONLY educational accreditation bodies in the United States are the six regional associations commissioned to accredit universities (and, lower levels education.) Northcentral University is fully accredited by one of these six agencies, the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools, the agency responsible for this region. Universities United represents bachelors, masters and doctoral degrees granted by fully-accredited universities, only.

Delivery of the NCU program is very flexible. Like the successful new directions of the Chinese government for the Chinese economy, called "The Three Represents," NCU's three-prong approach to distance-learning works very well to deliver business and medical education. (1) We have U.S. professors going to each Chinese/Taiwanese facility. (2) We can do online courses (the best method for thesis and dissertation courses.) [We can do hybrid courses of visiting U.S. professors to Asia for part of a course, with some online work added.] And, (3) We can host Asian students (in California) for some classes and graduation ceremonies.

Of course, additional responsibilities bring with them additional contact information:

The affiliation seems to be gone from IUFS website.

I would have loved to heard the exchange between NCU and IUFS.

    Rest my case!

For future reference, before any finger is point or speculations all the facts should be obtained!

    Thanks, Dr. Hecht!

I received substantially the same e-mail from Susan Penn, the NCU Director of Admissions, after I registered my extreme disappointment in the NCU/IFUS "partnership".

I'm now quite satisfied that NCU was an unwitting victim of chicanery by IFUS, and that there was no attempt by NCU to pull a fast one.

Needless to say I'm quite relieved, as NCU was on the top of my list for doctoral studies, and is now back on the list.

I, too, am seriously considering NCU for an MBA program. They have been very helpful and seem to be upfront when I contacted them with questions/concerns re: the SCUPS connection. I am new to this board, but IMO it says a lot when a President and Deans of a university take the time to respond on a bulletin board. Just my two cents.
