There are many, many regionally accredited online MBA programs around. You will not regret having a regionally accredited MBA but you might regret one that is not accredited or one that is DETC. My advice is to at the very least wait until January to see if CCU obtains DETC accreditation before choosing them.

I am in the MBA with calcoast and enjoy its program. I too would say as mourningdove has commented that you should wait until after Jan. 05 before making a decision. As far as actual changes in curriculum offerings etc., I do not have much info. as I enrolled prior to their application and changes.

Again, wait until after Jan. would be my advise though.

    Good luck

Some people still think of CCU as a degree mill though. I heard that their courses are equivalent of senior high school education. If so, I hope that they change this, and sounds like they are headed in the right direction by taking DETC seriously.

That is not true. I completed the MBA program with a 3.08 GPA and TUI's program with a 3.88 GPA. CCU's program is not that easy.

I agree with Randell... CCU's program is not that easy. I hugged a 3.39GPA on my BS in management with them and have found the MBA program to be much more stringent in terms of it;s course level of content and exams. I am simply seeking to meet the 3.0 required to graduate with them and I will be happy.

What does the MBA program consist of? or is it much like the BS program they have?
Does the course work still consist of Multiple Choice Exams? or is other work required?

My MBA was multiply choice but it may have changed; I completed it in August 2003. To be honest, I had to retake two courses because I did not have the minimum 3.0 GPA to graduate.

As Randell stated, the exams are multiple-choice with the additional requirement at completion of the 9 or 10 courses, depending when enrolled, one would have to either complete a master's thesis or choose to take 3 additional graduate level courses.

I havent gotten to that option yet.

I'm in the Psy.D. program at CCU. The first couple of courses were multiple choice but since then each have required a series of essays. The essays have to be written according to a specified format and use of material beyond the text book (with references) is encouraged. At this point I've probably written over 200 pages of these. Many of the courses for my Ed.S. in school psychology required less work.

I'm glad to hear that you are enjoying your experience at CCU. Like I said before, sounds like they are making sound steps towards DETC accreditation.
Just curious, but how many essays are required for each course? How long do they have to be?

The number of essays varies by course. The course I have coming up is Theories of Marriage and Family Systems and 60 essays are required. I usually end up writing one to two pages per essay.
