Also, can we acknowledge the fact the minimum education is an Associates degree? I have not seen that in a while.

Good question. I mean, it's Texas, lol. On a serious note, it may have to do with state policies. I am currently an adjunct for a state university there. I had to sign a remote work agreement allowing me to perform work outside of Texas. I have to renew it every 12 months. Recently, the chair reached out to us about our fall courses, he said that based on an ongoing legal review of out-of-state adjunct employment, he cannot put our names on the fall schedule until later this summer. So, I don't know if they are thinking about not allowing out-of-state adjuncts anymore. Not sure, but I hope not. I am scheduled to teach three courses for them this fall.

Update on this: received a call today that it was becoming a part-time position in which I’d teach (2) online courses per semester and pay would be $30,000 annually. Seeing as how I’d keep my current position, adjunct role, and this, I’d hop on it quickly as it aligns more with what I am seeking. I’ll update after an official offer is made (if they make it to me).

Huh. That's an interesting interpretation of how labor economics works.

    Brief update:

I have done my in-person interview and now the university is asking if I would be interested in teaching full-time, on-campus. They stated that if I pursued a PhD that I could then move from a full-time instructor to a Tenure-Track Professor position. The issue? I do not want to pursue a PhD any time soon.

I had a discussion with the department chair and she said she was still very interested in me and I have cleared background. Now just waiting for a formal offer from the Dean for the Part-Time role.
