...No? I don't know what they're on about here and it puts the entire rest of the article into question.

The whole piece is tonally dubious. I prefer this industry when we're trying to build students up, not tear other providers down.

This is one small notch above "Our credits are bigger'n your credits." Neither people who use their workdays to fire stuff like this at competitors, or those who direct them to do so, are a good fit for positions at serious educational enterprises.

There are a lot of good things to like about SL vs. Sophia. I still prefer Sophia, but I can see why some students might choose SL for at least some of their credits. They should've focused on those positives, rather than on the dubious information they did put into the article.

I think whomever wrote this has never actually tried Sophia classes.

Enh, that's what I get for not keeping up with the sister forum. I should have known that they'd get there before I did! :)

“That is, you won’t get a letter or number grade. There are also no exams.” Not quite true.
Each class does show a number grade during each section of the course, after each section test, and a final number grade is included.

Quizzes throughout the course. Pretest sections have an exam. Each section has an exam. Each class has a final exam. Some classes include papers and/or additional homework that needs to be uploaded.

On the positive side, no webcam required to take a test.
