Anyone Has One of These?

Have you completed the requirements to obtain an Edx Micromaster or Coursera’s Mastertrack?
If so do you recommend getting one?

No they are not equivalence to University/College's graduate certificates. The fact is that, your certificate is not come from the university, but the academic instructors and its platform.

 

Maybe good idea to go for GetSmarter, at least the certificate does not mention anything about the platform.

Not a Micro Masters but, in 2019, I did complete an Edx MOOC, Nutrition, Exercise, and Sports. It was very well presented. It actually left me well prepared for the Exercise Physiology Module of my recently completed International Judo Federation Certificate course. From time to time, I still get emails inviting me to begin a Micro Master, or some such, in Nutrition.

 

These are non-credit certificates that may or may not result in college credits once admitted to a small list of participating universities. On their own, these are not academic credentials for employment purposes; they're continuing education.

 

I agree! Besides studying for Data Science and AI through Coursera. I also taking Google Cloud Security and Rice University's Engineering Project Management to fulfill my CISSP and PMP continuing educational credits.

 

Never heard of GetSmarter before. But the courses are kind of ridiculously priced if you're directly comparing them to Coursera or edX.

 

I understand that it is like being in a cone of silence around here sometimes, but from what I gather, they are trying to be a Control group to fight the KAOS of the current situation. They have a number of agents about, last count somewhere between 86 and 99, doing their best. are they Ivy? Missed it by this much.

 

I think GetSmarter is owned by 2U, which acquired in 2017. 2U also acquired edX. GetSmarter also has a competitor, Esme Learning, which was found by my Entrepreneurship mentor at the Imperial College London, David Shreir. The courses at Esme Learning similar to GetSmarter, and they also has no company logo on the certificate.
