November is National Novel Writing Month. Is anyone here participating in NaNoWriMo this year?

The idea is to write a 50,000 word novel in thirty days.

Sometimes, there are some pretty sweet rewards if you are a "winner". Discounts on various things.

Nah... don't write for discounts. Or money!
Do it for fame. and the money will come - some day. I can wait; I'm young, yet. Just shy of 80. It'll happen. :)

Every year I think I might give it a try, but I don't have the patience. I know that many people write without any regard to quality, just filling up pages to reach the goal - as they say, you can always go back and edit - but you can't edit an empty page.
I DID jump back on a screenplay this morning that I let lapse for the past few years while I finished my film.
