I am delighted to have Started the IJF UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATE AS A JUDO INSTRUCTOR this A. M. It's an 18 week online program, and a 1 week practical (in-person) session. Provided all goes well, I hope to complete my practical session in Japan or Europe this winter.

Neat! I live in a rural area right now so the closest qualified martial arts facility is an hour away by car, but I'm hopping one day I can begin the journey to a black belt in a useful martial art.

Thank you. I have been playing and Coaching Judo for many years. The IJF Academy is a great opportunity. I am so very grateful to USA Judo for nominating me to enroll. I am a Certified National Coach with two of the three American governing bodies for Judo. I hope to open my own Dojo in my new hometown before the Year is out. Thankfully, two friends have clubs within reasonable distance. I'd love to see you get started. With my bias I recommend a grappling art, such as Judo, BJJ, or even wrestling. Always remember this - A black belt is a white belt who never quit.

Just finished week 6 of this 18 week program. Weeks 7, 8, and 9 are all 'Exercise Physiology. Lucky me. Much of the Exercise Physiology material was covered in an edX/Wageningen University MOOC, Nutrition, Exercise and Sports, I participated in a few years sgo I am still hoping to complete the practical phases in either Japan or Great Britain.

So... The IJF has decided to hold the Practical Session (PS) during the month of January in the Dominican Republic. I am just over halfway completed with the online portion of the UNDERGRADUATE CERTIFICATE AS A JUDO INSTRUCTOR Course. It continues to be more of a challenge than I had imagined. God willing, I will enjoy a little excursion to the Caribbean during our cold winter.

Just completed Week 11 Examination - - First aid and safety. Only four more examinations and the practical session to complete the certificate. Much of the focus of the practical session will be on formal judo - Nage No Kata (Forms of Throwing). I was required to have a full grasp of Nage No Kata to earn my black belt. I am so looking forward to my winter excursion to the Dominican Republic for the practical session.

To pass the course you have to beat your mailman in 2 out of 3 throws.

If you fail, do you have to give back the gi?

Ignorant and unnecessary commentary. My mail carrier is a good and decent man. He is however, neither involved with my education nor the practice of my way

I realize this is hard to understand, so I'll type slowly: My comment wasn't about you.

But kudos for your response. It was hilarious!

I don't think anyone here is dumb enough to think Rich was actually being serious. We all know that's not how it works. It was a joke, and a funny one! Like these: https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/glory-days-%E2%80%93-bear%E2%80%99s-guide-illustrations.61290/

It's not good for your mental health if you think everything is an attack on you personally. For your sanity, please take a step back and do some things you actually enjoy, rather than coming here and being annoyed by Rich.

You are free to be wrong here. I'll decide whether I'm offended or not. Whether or not this 'joke' was ill-intended or just out of ignorance is of no relevance. Now, Do you also laugh at jokes that mock peoples religion and or ethnicity?

I am fairly certain that Judo is not an ethnicity. And some religious jokes are funny! So, yes, I laugh at those.

Do you prepare your own popcorn? What is your method? I use an old fashion stove-top aluminum pot with the hand crank agitator on the lid. I use Extra Virgin Olive Oil. I mix my salt, pepper, and some spicy paprika with the corn right as I dump it in the hot oil close the lid, and begin cranking. You have inspired me. I will be making some this P. M.

One of the first things I learned in my business life is delegating all the tasks I am not good at, so, the local cinema is my standard source for it!

Professor Kano was many things. Perhaps before and after anything else, he was an educator.

What car did the 12 Apostles drive? A Honda. Acts 2:1.
