Does one have to complete the first course before enrolling in this new course?

I don’t think so. But you do need to do them all in order to get the certificate.
Otherwise, you would get a badge on Badgr

That's good to hear. It appears as if a handful of our dear members see this program as too good to be true and are anxiously waiting for SHTF. I wish I had time to do the program, myself and am hoping it will still be there when things settle down for me. *sigh* I'm barely keeping up with my MBA coursework, even after having taken some semesters off.

I know the feeling. For some reason I took two courses this term. I am doing great in one and well in the other, but I think the second course suffers a little because I run out of time to fully digest everything.

I just realized that the new available course has two parts. Only half the course is currently available up to the midterm. That means we still have to wait a bit not only for the next course but also the second half of this course. It will likely be 2024 before all courses are able to be completed at this pace.

Hopefully they pick up the pace soon! Can you imagine how long it would take if this is the pace for each language they plan to roll out? I think for anyone who wants a certificate (non credit), your best bet is the bootcamp.

I will wait to start it then until it is all out. Thanks for the heads up!

Any update with this program? Credits awarded, etc.?

I'm curious, as well. I signed up this week.

It seems the program is slower than anticipated. I signed up for the first course, and I dropped halfway. I don't think this credential would help my resume. I instead spend time studying Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain, and Data Science.

This program is very slow. Currently only the first and second courses are available. They uploaded the second course in September with only the first half of the course available. Over the past few weeks, they added four more modules but there are still four more that they have not uploaded. There was no email that went out stating that a few more modules had been added. They seem to just be drip-feeding the modules little by little.

At the pace they are going, no one will finish all five courses for the graduate certificate until the beginning of 2024 as they are making additional courses available at a pace of one every four or five months. I had been considering using these courses as transfer courses to one of the ENEB Master's degrees. If this certificate was a paid program, I would not pursue it.

This is exactly what they've been planning since the start. A slow, controlled, rollout until full implementation. Given how ambitious this endeavor is, I think they are going about it the right way. If all goes well, all courses will eventually be available on-demand, at 3 different levels of study and in several languages.

I agree considering they are making this free to us as well.

It is certainly an ambitious goal, although I don't know that it's necessarily the "right" way. But in that sense, it's their money, they can take their ball and run home with it, if they want. I think the discord is more that people who are perhaps in disadvantageous positions and saw this as a pipeline to career progression, are tremendously hindered by the wait time. It initially sounded like something you could tackle and "put to use," with whatever use it may have, but it turns out to be a longer wait than imagined.

I wonder what 2023 will bring for this noble experiment?

I'm not sure... So far I've completed their boot camp as well as two of the graduate courses they have available. My prediction is if they continue at the pace they are going with releasing these courses at a rate of about every four months, the free graduate certificate could be completed by the end of 2023 provided they release the third course in January, the fourth course in May, and the fifth course in September. By the beginning of 2024, students should be able to request recognition of graduate credits through an official transcript and an official graduate certificate/diploma.

I myself applied but never even started the first course. Was going to wait to hear back from others on the course work before going for it.

I seem to have stalled out on this for a while. I really needed the break this fall.

Does anyone remember which on of their degrees they said this graduate certificate would best transfer in to?
