There are about eight billion people now. If people are persuaded to have only one kid each and generations are 25 years apart, then a population of half a billion is one century away.

It's still a terrible idea, and probably futile, but it's not an inherently murderous one no matter how much over-the-top rhetoric you throw at it.

No, some centuries would be sufficient if the whole world would have the birth rate of, say, Japan.

One century is 100 years. Are you sure about your math there?

You may be right if you twist the math around, but you originally said "2.1 children / women."

Technically this would mean the population is still growing but I gave you credit that the trend was declining.

Anyway here is some Pew Research data predicting the trend which said the birth rate will go to 1.9 by 2100.

To settle the math debate I made a graph for you guys using a 1.9 birth rate. If my numbers are correct, it would be around 1200 years to get to 500 million. China tried the one-child policy. Initially, the policy was praised, but there are now some labor shortages and other issues resulting from this policy.

Nothing else you've said in this thread has been correct so that's a dangerous assumption.

It's a White Supremacist communist Utopian fantasy that the world will ever again have anywhere near 500 million people.

As productivity rises, the world will be able to support more and more people.

    "Your Mind is on Vacation
But Your Mouth is Workin' Overtime.

You're sitting there yakkin' right in my face
I guess I'm gonna have to put you in your place
    Y'know if silence was golden
    You couldn't raise a dime
Because your mind is on vacation and your mouth is
    Working overtime

You're quoting figures, you're dropping names
You're telling stories about the dames
You're always laughin' when things ain't funny
You try to sound like you're big money
If talk was criminal, you'd lead a life of crime
Because your mind is on vacation and your mouth is
    Working overtime

You know that life is short and talk is cheap
Don't be making promises that you can't keep
If you don't like the song I'm singing, just grin and
    Bear it
All I can say is if the shoe fits wear it
If you must keep talking please try to make it rhyme
'Cause your mind is on vacation and your mouth is working
    Overtime

It's a dangerous white supremacist view that earth will be able to support infinite people. Already, the POC of the world pay the price for white people to live well. This can't continue indefinitely, and may already have reached a breaking point.

When I read that I thought it was just referencing Nancy Pelosi comments about statues being torn down.

    "I don't even have my grandmother's earrings."
    "People do what they do."
