What will TEL learnings Introduction to Communication class coming as for a TESU degree? It is coming from York college which is RA.
According to TEL, York transcripts that course as COM 113 Basic Speech. This should come in as Public Speaking or equivalent, filling that gen ed requirement.
Thanks Rachel. Sorry for the late reply. How would the new, York-Introduction to Business class apply to a BSBA GM at TESU? Completed Psychology, introduction to IT and Communication at TEL/York. World Civilizations almost finished. Will hopefully complete history, Business, American Government and one other class by March, and finish the degree by March 2023. I currently have 69 credits total.
As far as I am aware, Introduction to Business would fall under free electives. If you have a personal interest, I would suggest instead taking Sophia's Intro to Business. It's cheaper, so there is less money wasted if you find the course doesn't actually fit into your degree plan. BTW, I'm not sure how much of the degree you've completed so far, but you know that there are more alt-credit friendly business degrees at TESU besides just GM, right? I would probably suggest Entrepreneurship. It has similar course requirements to GM, but it could look better on a resume.
Thank you. Will look at Entrepreneurship. Already completed the Sophia class but considering the Tel/York class to complete the eight required RA. classes. The York classes take a lot longer than the Sophia classes but are doable.
FWIW, if you've already got a bunch of credits from places like Sophia, I would apply and pay for the Medical Terminology TECEP ($50 and you don't actually have to even try to take it) right away. This will enroll you and lock you into this year's catalog. If TESU is going to make any policy changes, they do it on January 1st and June 1st. Having your courses transferred in and your catalog locked will help make you partially immune to any adverse policy changes.
Yeah... if I'd actually followed through on that advice a few years ago, I'd have been able to do a degree without a capstone or cornerstone. I am the example that you DO NOT want to follow. Get your catalog locked in ASAP. You can always change to a new catalog if it is favorable, but you can't go back to an old catalog if you're not already enrolled.
