Someone posted a deal on a Masters in Malaysia degree here: https://www.degreeforum.net/mybb/Thread-Online-degrees-from-Universiti-Malaya
I went looking for some inexpensive Masters/Doctorate degrees in Malaysia this time, some are online, some are butt-in-seat.
If you're in the neck of the woods here for a few years, you may want to go for a graduate degree here, inexpensively!
What caught my eye is that some DBA/PhD degrees from "Top Universities" can be had for about 50K MYR/$12K USD.

I'm contemplating a PhD in theology but think the PhD in humanities from Asia e Univeristy is broad enough to fit my research topic. However, I cannot find the tuition or if this program is available through distance. Any ideas? Also, anyone know how accreditation works in Malaysia?

It is stated on the page itself under PROGRAMME FACTS, that it is available fully online. If your definition of available through distance means you're sipping a cocktail by the beach in Hawaii with an Internet connection and a laptop, I guess the answer is yes.

Accreditation is awarded by program, and not by institution. Thus a recognized institution may end up offering a PhD program that is not accredited by the Government of Malaysia. To find out, just look at the information page of the program PhD (Humanities) - Asia e University | Malaysia's Digital Global University, and you should see a weird alphanumeric string such as "(R-DL/220/8/0008) (MQA/FA1940) (07/22)" for the PhD humanities from Asia e University

MQA stands for Malaysian Qualifications Agency, which I guess is self explanatory. Go to the government page here https://www2.mqa.gov.my/mqr/
And under Reference Number you can use the MQA/FA number 1940 above which spits a result page, and the detail page shows you this:
    Malaysian Qualification Register (mqa.gov.my)

I personally think the Malaysia higher education framework is very well established, at least, on paper. For clarity, I have not personally attended any. Just based on my research.
