    I mean... but why? A lot of that stuff requires constant maintenance to be useful, which the Taliban won't be in a position to provide. And it's not like they're going to drive an APC across the ocean and invade New York with it.

    I'm with Rich here. I could see the argument that it looks embarrassing, or that it represents in microcosm a tragic, enormous waste of resources over the past twenty years, but terrifying?

    The actual figure--the value of the equipment--is less than 1/5 of what is being reported here. Also, much of that has been disabled, never to operate again. The few aircraft that have not been disabled will not be able to fly because (a) the Taliban is unable to fly and maintain them and (b) no one else really cares to do that.

    Much ado about nothing.

    I'm not spewing biased policial ideology all over this thread, while refraining from offering anything substantial to the conversation other than "that wouldn't work" or blaming someone who is no longer in office for current day decisions on the ground. So yeah, I guess I need to grow up, that way I can rise to your level of intellectual development.

    You have poised questions that I've answered, yet you've choosen to conviently ignore them, yet offer little substance outside of finger pointing partisan retorts citing everything is the previous adminstrations fault. So please unpack that for us. . . how have the actions of yesterday forced the hand of decisions today in real time? Please enlighten us as to why so many retired generals and admirals are joining together to ask Austin and Milley to resign over this disastorous Afganistan withdrawl? (Try to answer without posing another empty ambiguous question if your capable, as deflections seem to be all your capable of)
