Here are some regulated qualifications in the UK that I am researching...
    ofqual register: https://register.ofqual.gov.uk/
CMI, OTHM has a searchable database of approved centres
ATHE, Qualifi doesn't but show you Progression Routes

Level 8 Strategic Management & Leadership, I'm researching if these can top up into a DBA/DProf or PhD by Research
    CMI: https://www.managers.org.uk/education-and-learning/qualifications/qualification-library/level-8-strategic-direction-and-leadership/
    Qualifi: https://qualifi.net/qualifi-level-8-diploma-in-strategic-management-and-leadership/
    OTHM: https://www.othm.org.uk/othm-level-8-diploma-strategic-management-leadership-practice.html

Inexpensive Level 7 Diploma Top Up options for various Masters such as Strategic Management & Leadership
    OTHM Qualifications List: https://www.othm.org.uk/qualification.html#universityprogrammes
London Graduate School (Masters Top-Up): https://lgsglobal.uk/index.html
University of Chichester & LGS Masters: https://lgsglobal.uk/masters.html

These offerings peak my interests - Level 7 Computing Technologies | Data Science
ATHE Level 7 Diploma in Information Security and Assurance
    ATHE: https://www.athe.co.uk/qualifications/computing/athe-level-7-ext-dip-in-computing
    ATHE Progression Routes: https://www.athe.co.uk/progression-routes/

If you're interested in universities that have Top Up's, you can review the Progressions list
    Qualifi Qualifications: https://qualifi.net/qualifications/
    Qualifi Progression: https://qualifi.net/university-progression/
    Qualifi: https://qualifi.net/qualifi-level-7-diploma-data-science/

I really like CMI as some UK Universities have partnered with them to offer Management qualifications.
I will be updating this list as there are a few other providers such as ABE/LRN that I am interested in.
Some don't have a database or progressions list, so it's somewhat complex in finding the "real" deal.
Skip unregistered qualifications that aren't approved, these won't show up in ofqual register.

This may be a good deal:

    Postgraduate Diploma in Data Science
Level 7 Diploma in Data Science
    1600 GBP
    https://www.libt.co.uk/programmes/data-science/level-7-diploma-in-data-science
Edit: The program seems not available. They are put just for appearance only.

Another website offers Level 7 for 3100 GBP.
    https://www.reed.co.uk/courses/data-science-postgraduate-diploma-level-7/316287

Qualifi Level 7 Diploma in Data Science contains 120 credits.
UoL MSc Data Science requires 180 credits. It means you need an additional at least 60 credits (depends on how much they approve the credits).
    Application fee 101 GBP.
    120 credits/15*58 GBP (RPL cost): 464 GBP
60 credits: 2730 GBP (Band A country), or 4200 GBP (Band B country).
Total cost 3295 GBP (Band A), or 4765 GBP (Band B).
    https://london.ac.uk/courses/data-science-msc#programme-structure-modules-and-specifications-12420

Assuming the Level 7 Diploma is 1600 GBP, it means your total cost would be 4895 GBP (Band A), or 6365 GBP (Band B).
It assumes UoL accepts all the 120 credits.

    USA is Band B country.

something crossed my mind, there's a few Lv4 to Lv6 IT diplomas on reed.co.uk that cost below 1k pounds each.

each level is 120 credits in the UK.

has anyone tried to get these credits evaluated through WES to see how many credits it'll be in the US system?

could be an alternative for cheap credits if you can get 40 US credits out of those.

There quite few good ones there. Now depending on the uni which one you want. One of the good options that you left out is doing the ACCA exams then you top them up at Darby, however that is Bsc in accounting. So basically you only need to do 6 exams, or 3 if you have experience in the industry. Study material you can find for free online, however you just pay exam fees that around £110 per exam, so around £700. Then you just top it up for around 4K. This can be fastest and cheapest Bsc, but harder one. You get a Bsc and a professional qualification.

Counting credits can be counterproductive. US universities transfer credit policies especially in to Masters degree are limited and very specific.
If someone whats to use the credit in the US even after WES evaluation the classes need to match those of a program one wants to gain advanced entrance using credit transfer.
I don't know if WES would provide equivalency to US RA University credit. One may need to shop around among NACES member services.
In UK some university may accept the diploma and the credit but not all.

Almost every evaluation agency (incl WES) has a course-by-course evaluation that translates foreign credits to US credits. How the transferring school treats these credits is up to them.
If WES or any other NACES member provides a degree equivalency then that might be used for entry to a higher degree in the US.

I'm not disputing what you are saying but also every credential evaluation agency has the right to refuse to evaluate a credential of a school.
I know of such instances, also one NACES member agency responded to a colleague that they will only evaluate degree and not vocational qualifications.
He had no issue finding another NACES credential evaluation service that provided the course by course evaluation report.
The University he applied to had a narrow list of approved credential evaluation services, he lucked out that his evaluation service was on the list.
