I wonder too. I always thought Kizmet was a woman. It was after their departure I heard they were a man.

Apparently attachments to Terms of Service, or interpretations of such, can be quite strong... plus Steve, the other Steve.

One cannot be persecuted if one is anonymous. You want persecution? Try being sued.

TB wanted to cut a corner, say that was okay for him, and then have everyone else applaud his choice. Over the past 2+ decades we've seen many posters try this. They get mad when others call them on it.

BTW, I don't recall anyone saying anything particularly rude to him personally.

I'm just saying how he felt, lol, not my feeling on it. Personally, I didn't see too big of a deal with this one. Maybe a post or two was kinda tough, maybe a little testy, but nothing I would quit over.

Unfortunately, I have been sued a few times. Fortunately, I won each time. I've also had to sue a few times and I did lose once (man, did I get screwed), but I won the others. From those experiences I learned, if I just don't leave the house ever again, everything will be fine.

Here's another example of the sort of thing I was talking about, although in this case the person is not young - though just as clueless. They think DEAC is a fraudulent accreditor and that UofP is a diploma mill.

I think that's the mentally ill, anti-Semitic man who's been creating multiple accounts at the sister forum to trash University of the People.

    When was this happening?

    Also this is laughable...
"DEAC is fraudulent, here's a link to Texas' blacklist"
    link says nothing about DEAC
"They charge money for degrees despite saying NO TUITION, is scam"
probably went to a school that charged 10x those fees in actual tuition + those fees worth of nonsense charges

They've been at this since at least 2017, since they had a domain on the same namecheap server and TLD, evidence-based.review. Even back that then they were getting point-by-point rebuttals of their ridiculousness https://www.reddit.com/r/UoPeople/comments/7io95l/university_of_the_peoples_forum_lets_review/

Edit: I just noticed this comment

"Interesting article! Thank you for posting. Also, I suspect this "university" auto-accredited itself: this obscure "DEAC" accreditor was dead a few years ago... and came back to life just to accredit the new "university". ROTFL"

Methinks they wrote the original website, and posted under the username rinaldd.

There must be something to that, because I have run into a lot of postings from people in IT there and in spaces unrelated to IT. I always thought that was just a big coincidence. Accounting, too. I've read a lot of posts from people in those two sectors attacking WGU. Strange.

I was going to take them up on it, just seems like the prudent thing to do for the good of the community, but if they're sending this to more than just me it's OVER

    Hi, everyone.

I am the Director of Paris College (now University) of International Education and was just made aware of this thread.
I think for the most part, the comments have been fair and accurate, but if anyone would like to ask me any questions, I'd be happy to answer.
I think a fair summary would be this:

--PUIE has been approved by the Ministry of education in France to offer various degrees, bachelor, master's, and Ph.D. programs.
--each program must be submitted and approved by the Ministry of education, and we received an authorization letter for each
--yet, we are not a national University, and are not on the same level of recognition
--that being said, our degrees can be legalized by and have been successfully used all over the world.

Our goal is to provide quality yet affordable higher education. We are not necessarily for everyone, but we believe we fulfill a very important niche in the market.

I found it interesting that you attended Lamar University.

We've had seven or eight students transfer credits to Lamar from PUIE. Lamar has a list of four credit evaluation organizations that they use. The students all submitted their transfer credit to one of those organizations and all credits were excepted for transfer. The comment from the credit evaluation company, again approved by Lamar University, is that. PUIE is the equivalent to a regionally-accredited US university.

https://www.lamar.edu/admissions/how-to-apply/foreign-transcript-evaluation.html. Here's the list of acceptable evaluation companies for Lamar. Which one was used for transfer purposes in the case of the students? Which company gave PUIE regional equivalency?
