Interesting change in events, I think you may have read my previous answers on this thread: https://www.degreeinfo.com/index.php?threads/self-paced-bachelors-degree-for-less-than-2000.52514/
Saylor.org is free, just the exams are not if you're using ProctorU. Let's do a little experiment... as my recommendations from a few years has changed over time, new players on the block, for cheaper, easier, faster and more value/ROI, I recommend things differently now.

Saylor.org 25 courses in 5 months for example, roughly 5/month. 25x25= $625... I rarely recommend them now because of Sophia.org, they charge $79/month but you get unlimited courses two at a time and it's much cheaper/easier/faster in the long run. $79x5 months = $395 plus the opportunity to score more credits, up to say 90+ (30+ courses) vs the 75 (25 courses) you get from Saylor.org... heck, if you have more time on your hands, do them all!

This is the only change I recommend vs Saylor, as Saylor has invasive proctoring and realtime camera/webcam with someone on the other end watching you. Sophia.org has biometric proctoring, no webcam or browser locks but the main seller is open book exams... you then take InstantCertCredit for 2 courses at $20 each, $15/proctor, total $70 for 6 extra credits in American Government and Spanish 1. You then need to splurge a little at $200/month, to get 2 courses, a Biology+Lab and an upper level offering of your choice.

For those who read up to here should know which school I am referring to get the Bachelors from - yes, you guessed it, not a NA university like UofP, but a RA that has been mentioned - UMPI BLS with whichever concentration you choose. You should be able to complete the final 30 credits with them in 1 term for $1400/term depending on your speed. You can at the most, complete it with 2 terms at $2800. The total is very comparable to the ones I mentioned in the previous thread post.

Note: If you go for a Masters, skip UofP. Try the ENEB/Universidad Isabel I - MBA & Masters combo for $249 USD when it goes on sale... In total, for under $4000, you get a Bachelors, an MBA, and a Masters of your choice. Since I am such a nice guy, for UMPI... Ask for entry into their AALS or add that to your BLS with a minor concentration and you get the Associates free of charge! <Yay me!> Again, if you are speedy with the UMPI courses, you can even get this cheaper by finishing in 1 term, it depends on your current commitments (family, kids, work, etc).

    Hi AsianStew

I didn't see the post, I've had a read of it, and I'm starting to find this a tad confusing

Firstly, many thanks for your write up - I honestly appreciate that. The issue I have is I'm unemployed, in January coursera had a special offer for a yearly subscription and I grabbed it as it was over 50% off, and completed a fantastic amount of courses, I want to get to the next level so I have some chance of being employed, but because I spent money on coursera, money for other enviroments is very tight.

I did some extra digging today on saylor and proctoru (along with the data breach and the proctor ceo being a bit of an idiot). I'll have another look at sophia, what I don't understand is taking a course with one provider, and then take an exam with another provider.

The more I read, the more I'm going in circles. I feel stupid

With Sophia, you don't take the courses anywhere else. You use their materials and then take their exams to get credit from them.

I would NOT go with UoPeople. You will not be able to continue with most MBA programs if you choose UoPeople. They are not Regionally Accredited at this point in time. They are only Nationally Accredited which is, paradoxically, considered the inferior type of accreditation by most institutes of higher learning. A Bachelor's degree also costs almost $5000. Even if you get a 50% scholarship, that's still $2500.

For only a little bit more, you could get a degree from UMPI that would be valid almost anywhere. It might be a bit harder to pay for but it'll give you MUCH more value for the money. You wouldn't have to worry about being rejected from an MBA program simply because the accreditation is "wrong".

When you're starting your journey at the same age as me, it'll be a little confusing as you start off, so, I'll make it more simple!
    1) Purchase a second monitor for multi tasking, this allows you to have the exams on 1 and the course material on the second. I use a laptop and have a second monitor just for this!
    2) Sign up for Sophia.org and complete as many courses as you can, it's $79/month, 2 courses at a time, unlimited courses per month. Some people finish 90 credits in 3-4 months, shoot for 5 as per my example earlier.
    3) Sign up for InstantCertCredit.com for American Government and Spanish I. (For more credits, to splurge, and if you're familiar with another language, take the ACTFL).
    4) Sign up for Study.com and start the Biology 101 + Lab course and an UL course. Update this thread and we'll inform you what other course you can take at Study.com for the month.
    5) Sign up for ENEB MBA & Masters - you can get an equivalent Advanced Bachelors/MBA & Masters, I would skip the evaluations unless you need equivalency for the UK-NARIC
6 (optional) Sign up for the UMPI AALS & BLS for your US Associates & Bachelors if you wanted to continue with an US education, the bulk of the cost is here, do this when you get a new job!

Your total cost is this: $914
    Sophia.org - $79/month, 5 months = $395
    Instantcertcredit.com - 2 courses = $70
    Study.com - 2 courses ($200+50 lab) = $250
    ENEB MBA & Masters = $249

On uofP I originally had a 100% scholarship with a caveat that if that was completed, the MBA will also have 100% scholarship, when I first started the peer reviews were awful, some answers I had to review had a single answer, the content felt as if it a load of wikipedia content pasted into the system, during that point my life went further downhill than expected and I had to put the lot on hold.

Last night I spent a good 20mins talking with a chat person on Sophia, I've seen multiple posts in forums where they have a $149/yr sale every so often, that will be incredibly useful. I've picked a course out to try and notice the enviroment is excellent, a cross between coursers and edx.

    I've been reading AsianStew's post,

If you can get a 100% scholarship, UoPeople might be worth it. I'm still concerned about how UoPeople might be recognized (or not) in the UK. For instance, as far as I'm aware, Canada does not consider a UoPeople degree to be a legitimate degree. At best, it's "vocational" learning. While Canada isn't the UK, they're both Commonwealth countries and I'm concerned that you might wind up putting in all that work only to have a degree that is considered worthless where you live.

I think I've been accepted again, I've just received a bundle of emails from them

Thing with UofP, if I go to a job interview and they ask where, saying UofP is a little deflating compared to a known university. For me, it's mostly about knowledge, over here it's mostly companies in london who have a look at the degree universities and a few other cities, other employers take the view it's the studies involved, not the end certificate compared to the US. I have a neice in the US studying a degree at harvard, she said it's very much which uni students go to that make the difference to moving forward, over here she didn't have that issue, interesting

It's more analogous to a Foundation degree.

The $149/year subscription is over at Sophia.org... They had that twice, my wife and I both got it while it was hot. I am not sure if Sophia.org will have another sale, but $79/month is an amazing deal already, you can crank it and finish many courses 2 at a time, unlimited courses each month. You take the courses at Sophia.org and the exams are done entirely online without changing providers and there are no proctors, they're on the "Honor System".

Step 3 and 4 - These are for transfer later on to the UMPI Bachelors, it's cheaper/easier/faster to take these than doing so at the university.
Step 5 is the Groupon MBA deal for ENEB, skip it for now.

FYI, I must enlighten you, don't buy from the UK site, buy from the US site for cheaper and get the second Masters along FREE!
Note: Don't buy when it's at $260 USD on sale, buy when it's $299 with a discount of 20% and get it at $249 USD for MBA & Masters.

Lastly, remember to do step 1 - get a second monitor. Step 2, Sophia.org - do all of it if possible, even if it takes the entire 5 months.
Step 3 and 4 are for future transfers to UMPI or any other college/university that we recommend here, they all transfer!
Step 5 will take some time to complete both MBA & Masters, when you get there, update us, so we can help you decide.
Step 6 is still optional, as you may want to go for another university, since you're in the UK, there are Level 7 Diploma's that ladder up to an MBA top up.

Here's an example of a Level 7 Qualification and an option to 'top up' for an UK university
LRN Level 7 Diploma in Business Management, if I recall correctly, a little over £1000 - https://www.lrnglobal.org/lrn-level-7-diploma-in-business-management/
Cardiff MBA Advanced Entry Top Up - £3180 - https://www.cardiffmet.ac.uk/management/courses/Pages/MBA-Advanced-Entry-Programme-(MBA-Top-Up)--.aspx

Thanks Steve, it's never easy comparing country study levels. My partner got her mba in the states (she's British) and she was getting confused with what is what

    Many thanks AsianStew

Just a couple of daft questions, why do I need to study biology 101, spanish 1 and Govenment course? Isn't that the equivilent of studying plumbing when I want to take an electrical exam?

I'm getting my head around this now, spent most of the day on sophia going through the "introduction to business" trial course

The US and UK/EU education system is different. US is generally 4 years, first 3 years of general education/electives and final year of 'major'. In the UK/EU, it's common to have 3 year Bachelors as first two years is the general education and final year is the major, a 4th year is possible for those wanting an honors within their major. The reason you need to take step 3+4 is because those are general education requirements, not electives, schools require a science lab, civic/government course, etc... in order to transfer into UMPI for example, it's required to be taken. So as I mentioned, you can take it at theses providers for cheaper, easier, faster - or take it at UMPI when the time comes. I would get it done first before applying to UMPI, as they require you to "get approval" each and every time after you applied to add one course, having it all transferred eliminates that...

Ah ok gotcha! In the UK we have math and english as basic requirements to any higher course (including A levels), I get it now thankyou!

I like your method and I'll finish the sophia trial (shame it's only a single course!) and dip my toe in the waters

I need to weigh up doing it this way (where I daresay I will learn a lot more), or totally free via UofP. OR... I do both concurrently
