Lerner, you really are a great guy but you're so out of touch with reality it is mind blowing.

The right wants to ignore losing an election by 7 million votes and give the next term to Trump! That is how you save democracy!?

Your post RECKS of desperation. If it's not desperation I don't know what to call it. Just the line about the left wanting to destroy the USA, where else can such a statement come from besides desperation?

    No evidence has been ignored.
The left doesn't want to destroy the USA.
The Ukraine and Chinese stuff and the rest is simply irrational conspiracy theories.

    Theory until proven.
You don't see or support attempted Communist Revolution in America just under your nose.

I didn't mean to imply that it was just you. I know that there are many on the right that do not seem to have a good grasp on reality and you're just being washed along in the wave. If you don't want to be washed away by that wave of crazies then just stop clicking on all those strange links that you see on social media?

VP Pence asked the court to dismiss that ridiculous Gohmert lawsuit claiming that the VP alone gets to decide what electoral votes to count. The response is even pretty sarcastic. Now, what makes this interesting is that Trump has been tweeting his support for this nonsense. I think this is the first time Pence has said, "No. That's just stupid." Trump will, of course, be livid. Pence has apparently finally had a belly full and will choose the constitution over the ego of Donald Trump.

January 6, 2021 will look nice in the rearview mirror.

An interesting thought experiment is to speculate what might happen if Pence did just count the votes wrong and gave the battle ground states to Trump rather than Biden, making Trump the pretend winner. I'm not a lawyer so this is more of a question? I would guess that it would be taken straight to the Supreme Court and they would quickly rule (within a week) that Biden was the true winner? I don't see there being any criminal liability for Pence though? (Just more big fund raising for Trump.)

No, that's why the states send their certificates to various places. Jiggery pokery in congress would be instantly found out and easily proven. Congress does not select the president except in case of a tie. The people in their states do.

In a normal transition, it would have been over by November 10th or so. This has been anything except normal. It won't be over January 6th. I'm guessing it won't even be over on January 20th. It (whatever it is) will just keep changing but keep going on.

Although, if it were a movie that I got to write the plot for, I would have Trump being carried out of the White House, kicking and screaming, by the secret service on January 20th at 12:30 pm. Then the scene would switch to January 27th with emails flying out to supporters asking for donations. Trump sitting in a mess of discarded McDonalds hamburger wrappings and empty diet Pepsi cans. While he is madly tweeting things like he was robbed, Biden isn't really President, Covid19 is a Democrat hoax, the people won't stand for this outrage, everybody knows I'm still President, I know it and YOU know it everybody knows it, etc., and then half of his tweets get deleted by Twitter for being false and dangerous then the movie ends.

Actually that one is marked as "The following sources are pending review". So they have heard of them but do not yet consider them worthy of a review.

BTW thanks for pointing out that MBFC site earlier. I have found it extremely interesting.

    Ah, fair enough.

I'm glad. That we both do, despite our varying points of view, speaks well of them.

Fact check is all point in time and given to interpretation.
    Example:
Dr Fauci said "In early March, Fauci said “there's no reason to be walking around with a mask.”
Someone today may interpret this as a lie.
In the same interview, he said people could wear masks if they liked, but they wouldn’t get perfect protection, and it would further pinch what at the time was a short supply of masks for doctors and nurses.

So I think that Marco Rubio when he said Dr Fauci lied - it may appear so to some people.
In our book club we read books and get together to discuss.
I hear various points of view and at times marvel at peoples insight, at times question how they get to some conclusions.
We all read the same verses, same chapters yet we are not in consensus.

"Massive evidence" will drop on the joint session of Congress on Jan 6th!
American public will get to hear and see new and existing evidence.
Rumor has it that up to 40 Republican reps (I heard only about 2) will challenge the electoral vote counting on Jan 6th.

The Trump appointed federal judge just dismissed Gohmert's stupid lawsuit for lack of standing and lack of subject matter jurisdiction.

This was expected, indeed this was a ridicules lawsuit against Mike Pence.
Pence is set to preside over a joint session of Congress to certify the results 306 for Biden on Wednesday. Some times objections happen.
In 2017 former vice president Biden downplayed objections from his Democratic colleagues and declared Trump the 45th president.

That is not really true. There were not any Senators that went along with the objections. Biden was just a figure head and made no decisions.

So Ted Cruz wants an audit before he will accept the electoral votes. Good luck with that.

What Cruz is mis-stating, though, is that he doesn't have to vote to accept the electoral votes. He has to convince a majority of his fellow Senators AND a majority of House members to reject the votes or they will be counted regardless of what Cruz thinks. Not going to happen.
