I wonder if this is linked to Macquarie university to be used for their degree programs? It doesn’t say much in the FAQs. I was interested in their MBA

Definitely not, it seems. Not for most of us. Two quotes from the FAQ on the site:

    (1) The money you receive as part of the Macquarie Group Scholarship can be used for any course (excluding Master's Degree and Executive Education courses) offered on edX.

    (2) In the wake of COVID-19, the Macquarie Group has established this scholarship and committed $1 million dollars in funds to support economic recovery by assisting learners seeking skills-based programming on edX. Preference will be given learners from low-income and underrepresented groups in Australia, India, the United Kingdom, and the United States.

Seems to be slanted towards vocational stuff on edX for people who could use some skills to get back in the race - those who have disadvantages and/or who may have become un/underemployed due to Covid-19 shutdowns or other misfortunes. Pretty clear it's not for grad degree-seekers or those who (they deem) can pay normal rates.

Couldn't find anywhere it said you couldn't use it towards a Bachelor's degree, via edX. I imagine one's circumstances have to be pretty tough to squeeze any money out of this program. And I'm thinking that an edX-based bachelor's would have to be a job-skill oriented one, or no scholarship. Nice that MacQuarie U. has committed money to the program - I don't think they expect many, if any, recipients to end up at their school, though. That doesn't seem to be the purpose.

    Thanks for the info!
If they give scholarships for taking their MicroBachelor certificate programs, this is a great deal.
Their MicroBachelor programs come with college credits from TESU!

They might --- but from the Macquarie letter, your circumstances would have to be pretty um...deserving, to qualify. Disability, developing country, un/underemployed etc. You'd have tough competition, if you're doing OK. Even if not (and I'm not wishing it on you) somebody somewhere, who is worse off, would likely get an award before you - just saying, not complaining about it.

I'm financially struggling to finish my online degree.
    I hope they'll help me.
They have 8 MicroBachelor courses that come with 3 TESU credits each. That's 24 credits! I hope I can get those credits at 90% discount....

So it has been 2 months since I applied for it.
Guess it is safe to assume that I wasn't accepted.

    Hello!

No, not yet... "Once your application has been submitted we will notify you within 6-8 weeks to let you know if you have received the scholarship funds or have been denied. An edX team member will reach out to you individually.

    Best regards,
    Mac Juli
